Here's What Ohio State Coach Ryan Day Told His Players About National Title Game
© Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports
Well, it was going to be Clemson or Ohio State that would go on play LSU in the National title game. As we know Clemson went on to lose to the Tigers as the Buckeyes sat home. Here's what OSU head coach Ryan Day told his team about the championship game...

Wonder what a LSU vs. Ohio State Natty game would've looked like.

I believe Ohio State would've have made it closer due to tOSU corners being better, but LSU still would've won by 2 touchdowns.

tOSU was better than Clemson. But they had their shot.

He’s basically telling the juniors on Ohio State that are draft eligible “sacrifice your millions so I can win a natty here.”

56-24 LSU over Ohio, Fields much worse qb than Sunshine

I’m not a Ryan Day or tOSU fan at all, but he wasn’t saying they deserved to be in the game this simply, IMO. He is simply motivating his team to work hard this off-season so they will be there next year.

That's how I read it. Good move if you ask me.

This way they can talk shite but they don’t have to prove it! They just would’ve been the next victim in line!

LSU would have smoked Ohio like a Coal Train.

What would LSU v OSU have looked like? LOL. You don't know by now? It would have been an arse whooping'. Just like Clemson and every other team that stepped to the LSU Tigers this year. Nothing but beatdowns. Slo-hio State would have gotten smashed by LSU, probably worse than Clemson did.

sunshine is highly overrated, but he's 2x better than Fields. If fields were good, he's still be at Georgia. Fields is crap.

His eyebrows are wack, true. But I have a lot of respect for this guy. I think he'll get them to the NC game one day.

What is it about a simple question that bothers people so much. There was no disrespect to either team. Would you not have wondered? You won convincingly. enjoy it.

We beat Clemson by 17. We did it with OSU's 4th string QB. Imagine what Ohio St would have done to Clemson . . . . . oh, wait. LOL

LSU probably wins, but Okudah vs. Chase would have been a better 1 v 1 matchup. Moss would’ve torched OSU’s linebackers, but I still like the matchup better than Clemson. Doesn’t matter though. Congrats LSU.

LSU would have pounded OSU just like they have everyone else this year. ----- •LSU defeated the entire preseason top 4 3 of those were the last 3 games LSU played. The other was on the road at Bama w/Tua. •Clemson, OU, Bama, Florida and Georgia went 60-4 combined other than losses to LSU. LSU defeated all of them by an average of 20 pts. •Since the CFP began, there are 5 (now 6) coaches who have won it all. CEO beat 3 of them this season.

I’m not one to usually make conclusive statements when it come to college football, especially with my team, but this was one of those rare seasons where there was one team that was simply not going to be beaten. Fields would not have matched Burrow score for score.
