A recent article by Matt Hayes of the USA Today Sports Network predicts when all of the 39 unbeaten College Football teams will lose their first game.

For the Tigers, Hayes predicts that LSU will continue on a long winning streak before losing at Oklahoma in the regular season finale on November 29.
quote:

2. LSU
Strength of Schedule: 10.

Where it ends: Nov. 29, at Oklahoma. The LSU defense is special, and will dictate nearly every game. Until it meets Oklahoma star QB John Mateer, and his season-long vengance tour.
Hayes predicts that Oklahoma will lose its first game of the season against Alabama, two weeks before LSU travels to Norman.

Hayes also predicts that LSU will deliver Texas A&M its first loss of the season on Oct. 25 in Death Valley and hand Ole Miss its first loss when the Tigers travel to Oxford on Sept. 27.
quote:

10. Texas A&M
Strength of Schedule: 21.

Where it ends: Oct. 25, at LSU. The LSU defense was embarrassed in this game in 2024, and the loss – as much as anything – led to wholesale changes from the transfer portal. Watch the LSU defense dominate this time around.

22. Mississippi
Strength of Schedule: 32.

Where it ends: Sept. 27, LSU. This isn’t about Ole Miss revenge from 2024 loss, it’s about Rebels’ inability to block the LSU front seven.

Look, 11-0 LSU vs 10-1 Oklahoma would probably be #2 vs #3-#5. Would be funny if they won, but we had to play each other in the SECCG and we win the rematch.

Got 4 tickets and an Airbnb house in Norman. The campus in Norman has no idea, yet, how LSU takes over. That place will be LIT as frick whether the teams are that highly ranked or not, but if it's a #2vs#3, the scene in Norman will be unbelievable. They opened up a brand new area to tailgating near the stadium that's never been available before, closed off to tailgating, and everyone there has super upped their tailgating game and everyone is enjoying the SEC atmosphere coming to Norman. Can't wait!

Mateer is legit, but can you imagine what LSU's defense will be like by Nov. if they can stay healthy? And we're talking about Chokelahoma. I'll take the Tigahs all day.

Hope he’s right. 11-1 goes to CFP.

LSU is not locked in here with Mateer. Mateer is locked in here with LSU.

Matter had basically identical stats to Nuss's Clemson game against the only team they've played with a pulse. Forgive me if I don't quake in terror.

He was responsible for 350 yards & 3 TDs.

Wouldn't be a shocking loss. OU's playing pretty well and Mateer is def on top of his game. And it's in Norman.

That said, sooo much can happen between now and late Nov

Matt Hayes would have far more credibility if he could spell "vengeance."

That definitely appears to be a tough game at this point. 11-1 would be more than satisfying.
