Updated: LSU WR Kayshon Boutte Unavailable For Citrus Bowl, Declares For Draft

Update: Kayshon Boutte has declared for the NFL Draft.

LSU released a statement Wednesday that starting wide receiver Kayshon Boutte is unavailable for the Citrus Bowl vs. Purdue.

The release said that Boutte is enrolled in classes for the spring semester but did not provide any further details as to why he will not be playing in the bowl game.

ORLANDO – LSU wide receiver Kayshon Boutte is unavailable for the bowl game and will not play when the Tigers face Purdue on Monday in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl, head coach Brian Kelly said.

Kelly said Boutte is enrolled at LSU for the spring semester.

Boutte announced back on December 5 that he would be returning to LSU for his senior season next year.

Boutte entered this season as one of the top wide receivers prospects in the country but saw his NFL Draft stock dip after catching 48 passes for 538 yards and two touchdowns.

I'd put money down that he won't be on the team next Fall. Either in the league or elsewhere, but not here. With JD as the heir apparent, he knows next year will be more of the same.

Exactly.I love lsu so much, but our fans make me sick. Like what does he get out of playing vs Purdue in a meaningless bowl game lol I would rather see more young new faces we haven’t seen much of all year in a game like this.
