Texas head coach Tom Herman confirmed Monday that he and his staff are recruiting former LSU quarterback Brandon Harris to Austin.

It was reported last week that Harris would be visiting North Carolina, Texas, and Arizona as potential transfer schools.

Harris announced last month that he would be transferring from LSU after he graduates in May. He will be able to play immediately at another school as a graduate transfer.

I sincerely hope he gets BH and makes him a good QB.

Man could you imagine the backlash if he gets Brandon and turns him into a badass QB.

I'm definitely rooting for that to happen

Well, good luck with that. In an offense which throws the ball as much as Herman's does, Harris will be exposed as the no talent, unreliable, passer that he has always been. Bye.

The kid simply doesn't have the composure between the ears not to fall apart when it really matters. We saw it time and time again. He's not a field general. He gets that deer in the headlights look of confusion and telegraphs all his routes. If Herman can turn him into a draftable player then he's the best coach around.

I just don't see him operating at a high level in an offense that might ask him to throw the ball 40 times. Herman's offense is predicated on high completion percentage and requires a good runner. While BH was a good runner, he's nowhere near a Greg Ward type player in that respect. He's too inconsistent with him short and intermediate throws. That's a lot to fix in a player that only has one year left. His biggest strength is that he can launch ball 60 yards down field which should make him good in a vertical offense like what LSU was trying to do. Our coaches were just really bad at putting him in the right positions.

If Harris goes to Texas and has a decent year it will be an act of God not coaching. A coach can only coach talent which is already there. Harris simply can't throw a catchable bal across the middle without making the receiver alter his route by tgrowibg the ball high, low, or behind his receiver. 2 seasons ago I saw Harris miss a wise open LSU receiver against Arkansas. His pass was so bad tge it hit the defender in the back of his helmet 5 yards bend the wide open receiver. That shite isn't coachable. If you go back and watch the ending of the Wisconsin game Brandon Harris' QB talent is on pure display. His judgement is absolutely atrocious. If Harris goes out and has a little success against Big 12 defenses I won't be surprised but a one year wonder he isn't. He is not a major college QB.

I agree completely. Harris practices ok and has nice zip and arm strength but this isn't a punt pass and kick competition. He doesn't have it mentally, he just doesnt, and you can't coach that. I hope he does well wherever he goes but it's pretty obvious that they tried to hand him the starting qb job and gave him plenty of opportunities and he just couldn't cut it. He missed so many easy throws and alot of the passes he completed weren't good throws but great catches by our wide recievers. Im glad we have etling because harris had shown nothing in the way of improvement from his first start at lsu to last year at Jacksonville st when he lost his job. He had ample chances to be the qb for lsu and he failed badly, it's just that simple. Maybe a change of scenery/programs is what he needs and I wish him the best of luck.

He was a spread offensive QB@ Parkway, they ran a similar offense. I do not recall, maybe even no huddle. He could be quite successful in this scheme. Wish him all the best! Class act!

If he goes to Texas he will be sitting behind a sophomore. The freshman from last year showed potential.

would like to see him at UT. Then we'd see how much of the problem was BH and how much was Miles' antiquated playbook.

playbook doesn't make you play poorly - just saying.

playbook doesn't make you play poorly, as the QB still had chances to hit receivers with accurate passes. But the playbook certainly didn't help either.

Seems like a depth move for Ut. I can't see BH starting. Buchelle had decent year they can build off of and they are real high on incoming freshman and local kid Ellinger. With only one year left I don't think Texas is where BH should go.

But I bet UT would like him for depth. They only have the two qb's right now and Ellinger might have to have surgery if his finger gets dinged again.

Sorry Tom. He's not going to go from sitting the bench behind Etling at LSU to go sit the bench behind Buchelle at Texas.

But it takes 4 years for qbs to learn the offense. Oh wait, that coach is no longer at LSU.
