Our offense got better as the season went on?????

I honestly like what he said. I’ll give him one more season because we don’t have a chance but it’s no excuses.

I’ll give him one more season only because it doesn’t do the players much good to change the coordinator every damn year. With that said, he should’ve never been hired. Way in over his head.

I mean, it's frustrating. But it's all true. It was the third offense in three years we've had with a LOT of OL injuries and moving parts in general. Receivers were legitimately young, and Giles was a massive, embarassing disappointment. We had some superb moments/game, though, and I genuinely look forward to next year. NB4 #nextyearu

Where am I wrong.

Receivers were legitimately young? I don't think so. Only one starting WR was a true Soph, and that was LSU's best WR this year. The rest were older, minus Chase and Marshall. Also that is a terrible excuse. Do you see Bama's young WR's struggling? No. You see them playing lights out and winning awards.

I am so tired of hearing Giles was an embarrassing or disappointment.. if you can’t run RPO which is what he said ithey didn’t do how can you blame him..Giles was open on numerous plays but the ball never came his way.. A six years saw that and did his on analysis on Giles you may want to contact him before making faults comments..He has better knowledge than some adults.

"...got better as the year went on." We peaked mid-October.
user avatar
TaderSalad76 months
Well, to his credit, we did go from 104th to like 98th in offensive production.

offense looks good till you play a top 20 defense. then nothing works. Seems to be the case for last 10 years.

Anything you wish you could have done better this season? “No not really !” Really? You dont wish you could have got a td vs Bama or called more quick passes/ screens and try to counter the poor OL play against Florida? From these answers it seems Ole Ensminger thinks he did a great job this year.

Anything you wish you could have done better? "No, Not Really." "The Bama Loss is on me" - Translation: I'm a fricking idiot and I deserve to be fired

How come LSU coaches take two years to install offenses or defenses. Either we can’t coach it or our players can’t learn it. Let’s go with “learn the playbook Monday”
user avatar

Being we have seen and been told this for many years by different coaches, I would say the players cant pick it up.

"People don’t like to heat this, but we were a young offense ..." I am so tired of hearing this shite every f*cking season.

Amen. We just need five years to implement it. Too bad our players are only playing for four

Greatest d-line program in the country against a poor AND depleted o-line. I wasnt surprised at 0 points

It wasn’t surprising because it’s the second time it’s happened... let’s see if Grandpa E can go 0/3 next year. Yaw yaw yaw

Umm two years in a row as OC and you fail to score one point against a team should be immediate grounds for firing.

Ensminger is blaming Giles on not running RPO’s. I don’t think Ensminger knows what an RPO is.
user avatar
Bert Macklin FBI76 months
I don't think he blamed him, I think he was trying to explain his lack of production. He just said that RPO's are Giles's niche and we didn't run many of them.
user avatar

im pretty sure that he forgot more than you know!

According to SE, the offensive line was problematic all season. So...that's why you run RPO's, especially with a mobile qb like Burrow. Instead, the passing offense came out of a shotgun/drop back into the pocket. That's not the place to optimize a RPO. The proof of that is that SE did call those plays with Burrow in the pocket. Those plays, for the most part, did not work. Now a roll out RPO, which was seldom, if ever, called, would have been optimal. See the overtime game at A&M for proof of that.

Did he go to the school of Les Miles-speak? He said nothing by mumbling something.
user avatar

SE knew more football than Miles by the time he was 10. LMAO

Blames young offense. Blames having only 1 TE and 1 FB. Blames mental aspects of young receivers, blames offensive line injuries. Doesn’t think he could have done anything better personally, but does take credit for ineffectiveness in red zone against Bama. Confusing is confusing.
user avatar
mrbayoublu76 months
Nothing confusing here. SE is not taking responsibility for an ineffective offense.
user avatar
Azkiger76 months
I understand him being a stand in considering what happened with Matt Canada, but if he's still OC next year I'm going to lose a lot of faith/interest in Coach O. You've had an entire year to hire, as we were promised, the best supporting staff in the country. No offense to Ensminger, but he's not at that level.
user avatar
biglego76 months
E will be OC next year. I guarantee.
user avatar
cj200276 months
Yeah go ahead and change the whole offense again and see how well that works. He just told you many of the kids could not handle the changes at the LOS.
