We don't complain about hiring an nfl coach. We complain about hiring THAT nfl coach. There's a difference.

I'm undecided on this hire but to be fair Cam Cameron was a former NFL head coach also and he sucked balls.

Coach O hasn't steered us wrong yet. Show O some respect by giving Linehan a chance. We lost a LOT of playing and coaching talent off of last years team. Losing Brady hurts, but Ensminger should have learned a great deal from his schemes and will implement much of the same system and style. Next year will probably be an average 10 win year with Brennan, but Orgeron has earned the right to rebuild his staff and talent for next year. Lets just enjoy the ride and wait til 2021 to start being critical.

"Coach O hasn't steered us wrong yet.".... uh, Canada in 2017 and E in 2018 had pedestrian offenses. And E made changes after each of those years. I'd call both of those hires a fail. And yes, I give E credit for meshing with Brady last year, but most of the credit goes to Brady for our offense. And don't get me wrong, I respect E a lot.

I fully agree. Coach O produced the best season any football team has ever had. The best team LSU has ever had. You would think he would earn at least a couple of months of leeway to make decisions without being second guessed by all the internet geniuses.

We need someone who knows the RPO and different concepts within that offense. This guy has that and is good with QBs, ask Dak Prescott. We didn’t need another Brady and O explained this. Ensminger has most of that offense down and we needed to add some different elements, well because we have different players now. We no longer have Burrow and all the veteran players. Maybe coach O knows what he’s doing people. My goodness I’m so tired of hearing the same shite every year and then we burst onto the scene then folks who’ve talked shite the whole time want forgiveness and hop on board once they see it going good. But the minute they see a slight bump they’re waiting to say I told you so. Gosh our fans are awful.

Scott knows RPOs? Lmao

Yes he’s worked with this offense for years at the professional level. Again we don’t need someone to come in and revamp the entire offense, change route concepts or change how we run it. It worked, why change it completely? Maybe some tweak or some stability in one or two aspects is all we need? I suspect that O knows what is needed and this guy can provide that plus more. He would know better than anyone posting here, that’s a fact. Maybe it’s efficiency, TOP, the run game, using TEs more, red zone or from the 20 yard line in. Again I’ll assume Ed O and Steve E. know what’s needed in the program this year and have made the correct hire. I mean they did just win the National Title and all the awards that come with a historical season.

We'll see. No one knew Brady and that worked out well. Everyone knows Linehan has it's hard to have a more established resume. Lot's of NFL experience as OC, PGC, HC. We'll see, but you'd think O has earned the benefit of the doubt. Not so much with the perpetual melters.

You can give O the benefit of the doubt but this hire is pretty bizarre. Linehan flopped in Dallas.

I like the fact that Coach O took his time interviewing the candidates. Finding a guy that had the knowledge, personality, work ethic, etc. Then I'm sure he sent down with Steve, as to figure the new hire would mean well together. I approve

You idiot complainers have reached an all time level of idiocy. NONE if you are qualified to object. Most of you are probably below average at your shitty jobs. Only you MORONS would melt over a passing game coordinator. Stfu

I wonder how many national titles, conference titles, or even college wins all these fair weather whiners have between them??? Geez people, our coach (the same one who hired Brady) made a hire after looking at all the possible candidates. You would think that after winning the SEC and national titles he would earn some repect........

No matter who they were going to pick people weren't going to be happy, well because it's not Brady.
user avatar
evangelfan51 months
Is this a joke? He's the antithesis of Brady, and was finally run out of Dallas for the same reason Les was fired. Refusal to change, and gross and obvious predictability on a very stale offensive scheme. Hopefully Coach E has got the Brady passing game/tree down, and can relegate this guy to his assistant until he's up to speed on a dynamic passing game and pace.

This sounds like the same type of negative responses I heard for this board when LSU hired Ed Orgeron as head coach!!!

Coach E going to call the shots
user avatar
Bayoubengal20551 months
Exactly. Linehan will bring his contributions to the table and E will “swallow the good and spit out the bad” and add the good to all the good he’s learned over the years including what Brady taught him. Plus E’s a pretty darn good and aggressive play caller and he will continue to have great success. IMO Geaux Tigers

NOT A FAN!! This guy couldn't get it to work with Zeke, Dak and the best O-line in football. This is a name hire. I pray he proves me wrong, but I am not excited about this guy replacing Brady.
