LSU will be unveiling a premium area inside Tiger Stadium this season called "The Chute" where fans inside the stadium can purchase beer during the game. Here are the details, according to LSUSports.net:

The Chute will be open to any fan 21-years of age or older with a game ticket. Located on the ground level of the south side of Tiger Stadium, The Chute will give fans the opportunity to purchase beer and food while watching the game and highlights on a giant-screen HD video board and numerous HD televisions.

“This will be a great addition for Tiger Stadium and for our fan experience,” said LSU Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Joe Alleva.

Named after the tunnel used to enter and exit to the lockerroom at Tiger Stadium, admission to The Chute includes two beverages and is $20 a person. Additional beverages can be purchased for $6 inside the premium area. Food service in The Chute will be provided by Burgersmith, which will serve their menu items cooked fresh on-site from a food truck.

Water and soft drinks will also be available in The Chute.

Due to Southeastern Conference regulations, all beer must be consumed in The Chute.

The Chute, which will have a capacity of approximately 1,250 fans, is located between Gates 23 and 28 on the south side of Tiger Stadium. The Chute opens 2 hours and 30 minutes prior to kickoff each week and will close at the beginning of the fourth quarter.

This is a great idea, and a decent value. Hopefully they spend additional time in the coming seasons perfecting this.

Alleva knows that by mid season this year, watching our beloved Tigers being led to slaughter by Coach O will require a continuous supply of alcohol so he gives fans "The Chute". We are truly blessed to have Joe " I Am The Search" Alleva as our AD and our source of comfort in these soon to come dark times. All hail " The Search" and may God bless LSU!

It's all good except the closure at the beginning of the 4th qtr ??? Where are people going to move to??? DUMB. I understand if they stopped serving, but to close is idiotic and self serving.

Back to their seats I would assume.

They can literally move to wherever they want to move to, but their seats that they paid for would probably be a nice option.

Y’all are pathetic. We finally have a nice addition to TS, and people start to bitch about prices. Just enjoy the fact you can drink (legally) in the stadium. If it’s too expensive for you...then sneak your booze in like always.

One of the few things that Alleva did right by LSU fans...Nice workaround the Out of touch SEC..

If you’re willing to spend $20 for a “premium drink” and miss an entire quarter waiting in line....more power to you

I like the idea...but I can't see how this can possibly affect enough people to make a difference in the atmosphere of the stadium.
