LSU freshman tight end Arik Gilbert announced Sunday that he is transferring to Florida.

Gilbert, a former 5-star recruit from Marrieta, Ga., opted out of the season the week after LSU's loss to Alabama and entered the transfer portal on Jan. 5. He started in the first eight games for the Tigers, catching 35 receptions for 368 yards and two touchdowns.

Posted "from Family Dollar." Is that his way of confessing that Florida offered his parents the better deal?

Why do our highly recruited high star players end up mainly going to Florida when they transfer?

No state income tax when they get the bag of cash.

Arik Gilbert only issue with LSU is when he signed with the Tigers we were 15-0 and National Champions. Now in 2020 we ended up 5-5 and in his mind we're closer to 5-5 than 15-0. And what Gilbert is not looking at is what Florida is losing in 2021 and what LSU is not losing in 2021 and he definitely didn't pay attention to the last time Florida won a Natty. I just wish Death Valley will be at full strength when Florida comes for a visit and I wish he's on the sideline to witness the full power of Tiger Stadium.

In other words, it appears he isn't too smart at forecasting. Hope he doesn't go into meteorology....and when/if he goes pro, he better get a real smart agent.
