LSU running back Corey Kiner announced Monday morning that he has entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Kiner, a sophomore from Cincinnati, Ohio, played in 11 games last season with one start and carried the ball 79 times for 324 yards and two touchdowns.

Head coach Brian Kelly revealed last weekend that Kiner has a high ankle sprain and was going to miss the rest of spring practice and the spring game.

A Stand-Up Dude... I wish him the Best. I really can't say any RB have been given a Real Chance to Succeed.

I liked him a lot and I'm sorry to see him go.

Gutted, this entire team. 54 players enter the daggum portal. Not a fan of this coach

Put your big boy pants on, if indeed your wear them. And throw your pacifier away while you are at it.

Maybe those players didn't like the fact that an ADULT was now in charge instead of the moronic imbecile & his men?

I knew someone was gonna leave, but didn't think it would be Kiner. Cain from Penn state coming in and Tre Bradford been coming along fast is probably why he is leaving.

This guy seemed solid. He came down and now he is out of there, can’t blame him if he sees something different with the new coaches and bails. He was trying to finish classes and go through spring practice then made a choice. Good luck to this guy

Sort of strange since no other RBs are rising to the top. Maybe Emery will surprise everyone.

Emery has already rose to the top

This portal shite is just teaching kids to quit and go elsewhere when things get tough.

We signed 14 of them... the irony

How many of those 14 were starters at their respective schools and how many couldn’t cut it?

What irony? Is jbird7 in charge of whether LSU takes kids from the portal?

I really loved the way Corey ran and I thought he had a chance to be our next great back, too bad but he has to do what he thinks is best for him. Good luck Corey and thanks for being a Tiger

I like the way he runs the ball, too. He reminded me of CEH sometimes. Hate to see him leave. I figured a RB would leave. That room is pretty full. Just didn't think it was going to be him. At least we still got depth.

This is disappointing. Kiner was a clear #2 on the depth chart and was getting a few reps with the ones. He has legitimate moves, and at times last year he was the only option for an O-Line that frequently provided "Look Out" blocks. I hope he transfers to Michigan and we never see him again.

It comes down to who wants to work to play here at LSU. The ones who don't can go play somewhere else.

My question is: Does he really have a high ankle sprain or is that now the code for "Hey Coach, I think I'm gonna enter the transfer portal" and the coach has to tell the media something?
