Former Florida and South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier was on the "Another Dooley Noted Podcast" this week and spoke about the Lane Kiffin situation at Ole Miss.

Spurrier said that Kiffin should finish what he started with the Rebels this season and make a decision after the playoff run. Per Newsweek:
quote:

"Everybody's waiting to see what Lane Kiffin's going to do Saturday after the Egg Bowl... He'll have a lot of cameras on him for the Egg Bowl," Spurrier said. "It is a touchy situation. Seems like if they would just say, ‘Hey, I am going to coach this team until the season is over. If nobody wants to wait for me, I don’t care. I’m going to coach this season and finish it off. Because we started it.’"

"It's good to finish whatever the heck you started," the legendary coach continued. "They've got possibly the best team in school history. Give him and that team a chance to finish out... Just wait until it's all over. But they're not doing it that way."

It's good to finish what you started...and quit on South Carolina mid-season. LOL

The portal opens up December 3, his current school is not going to let him finish all the way through. It’s a different situation now, Steve!

Guess what ole ball Coach - it doesn’t work that way in today’s game.

The portal is what fricks this shite up. How can a program wait? And how can a coach wait? They need to make the portal window the first week of February or something.

It can’t happen that way because school has already started and spring practice is not far after that

They need to just push it back to the spring and then the players join their new school in the summer/fall.

Yes, doesn’t it make sense to open portal immediately after spring practice after coaches have seen what they have or don’t have with the high school recruits?

Welcome to new CFB. He cannot be in Ole Miss' football building while the portal is open - that is a huge conflict of interest for Ole Miss if your coach is recruiting your players to your rival.

Sure wait till your through with the season?? Mr. Visor did you not leave S.S. on October 12th before the season was over. Mind your own business.

"Spurrier told his team of his decision on Oct. 12, 2015, and held a news conference the following day to officially announce his resignation from the University of South Carolina. He said he felt the team was going in the wrong direction and he was no longer the right coach to lead the Gamecocks."

This is why Kiffin isn’t going to UF. He’s still at Ole Miss and Spurrier is already meddling.

Saban said it best, it isn’t Lane’s fault how these schedules are lined up. He’s forced to act now or LSU will be forced to go elsewhere. No matter what happens, Ole Miss is probably screwed and that’s just the way things are. We’ve had the exact same things happen to us. Great coaches leaving as soon as the next job opens up. It’s a part of the game now, the NCAA made sure of that with recruiting and transfer timelines. That is not on him. I wouldn’t listen to any of these people. Do what is best for you. Period. That’s what these players do and that’s what these clowns doing all the talking do as well.

This is stupid advice, because it's Ole Miss that is forcing Kiffin to go ahead and make a decision. You'd think Spurrier would know that.
