Paul Finebaum Mentions Two Possible Candidates For The LSU Job

ESPN's Paul Finebaum was on "McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning" on Monday and discussed the LSU job opening.

The conversation, which happened before Lane Kiffin's family visited Baton Rouge on Monday, mainly focused on the Kiffin's chances of ending up at Florida.

As for LSU, Finebaum mentioned Missouri's Eli Drinkwitz and USC's Lincoln Riley. Per On3:

“I think the name of the moment is probably Eli Drinkwitz,” Paul Finebaum said. “Certainly, he is a good name. He isn’t Lane Kiffin on the buzz meter, but he’s probably the next best thing.”

“Do you go back to the well where you were five years ago and make another run at Lincoln Riley, who, in spite of a couple of incredibly mediocre years, has done a very good job this year,” Finebaum said. “At least resurrecting his name and respect and his program is in tremendous shape at the moment, barring whatever happens Saturday afternoon in Eugene. That’s what we think.”

Finebaum added that he was most confident in Tulane's Jon Sumrall getting the Auburn job and that Lane Kiffin's playoff situation at Ole Miss complicates things.
