Catch of the week...

Posted by reiszner on 10/25/24 at 6:19 pm
I just happened to be watching Yale vs Pennsylvania and there is a definite nominee or really winner of the catch of the week. It happend in the 1st with 10:32 remaining. What a catch, lucky catch but damn...

Calling CD. check it out
I know this is about JUCO qb's, but I am confident that Brandon Harris will continue to learn and will be prepared to lead next year.

There is a %50 chance we will have to bring Harris in at some point. Les always has something stored up for Alabama. Who knows he may be planning on playing both QB's anyway.

However, we have been playing great D. Take aways, TFL, Sacks, etc... With Beckwith coming along and finally his knowledge is catching up with his athletic ability he is filling the middle great.
I here that Louisiana players that go to Alabama get taunted all the time at their own school. They have to defend themselves and their home town and state all the time.

We have Alabama players on our team and we don't give them shite. The guys in the locker room might mess with them a bit but we don't. I.E. Andy Dodd. He had to come into the game as the 3rd center and helped us pull out a win.

Go Dodd!

Don't forget about Devin Voorhies, Ed Paris Jr is awesome, and John Battle IV. Plus Ricky Jefferson already making big plays.

With Ronald Martin, Probably Mills, and maybe Corey Thompson moving on we will have a new awesome group of Juniors and mostly Sophomores, with a couple of Freshman for next year. I know that Toliver II will compete for either starting role or lots of playing time.

re: Tyron Johnson Texas Tech How????

Yeah but I fully expect Harris to take the QB position from Jennings next year because he will know our system and thats the only thing holding him back. He has the arm, vision, better decision maker, etc..

Nothing against Jennings but Harris is just better talent.

Brandon is not only super talented, he is a classy guy with lots of loyalty and integrity. I say play him again. Not saying Jennings isn't talented, classy, etc..., but I have watched more interviews and film on Harris...
For us we have a lot of LB's, but you still have to recruit maybe 1. This year we need OT, OG, and DT, DE, RB.

ABR = Always Be Recruiting...

Why no offer to Bo Wallace OLB?

He is considering LSU, but no offer. He looks good as he is quick and strong enough to get by those linemen.

We are just young and inexperienced. Lacouture is the most experienced and he has only started this year. He played in the rotation some last year by not significant.

Davon Godcheaux is a monster, and it will all come together, IMO.

re: 17 true freshman? Is there a list?

Posted by reiszner on 9/21/14 at 2:25 pm
Having all these freshman on the field this year has to be inspiring for the future of LSU. If people don't see and understand that then they don't get it. I am extremely happy with the way we played with Harris at QB. Is there a possible QB controversy now? I like his ability to get the ball out fast vs. Jennings who seems to throw the long ball a lot. Harris seems more balanced and a bit faster on his feet. We have one loss might as well go for it now. I do wish our D would have locked down Dak better. No one seem to be covering him.

Although I don't see 1 sec team getting through the season without a loss.

My first thought would be A lot!

re: LSU vs MSU predictions?

LSU - 24+
MSU - 10 or less

Another shutout would be epic.

Geaux Tigers!

LSU has been known as DBU, but honestly LSU is NFLU. No matter the position, even over the years when we didn't have the best passing attack, when our receivers went to the NFL they were prepared, so LSU prepares the players that want to go to the NFL and does the same for those who want an education and want to maybe coach one day.

re: Anyone else kind of feel bad for LF

His head will be high once he reals off 200 yrds and 3-4 tds vs Sam Houston. Brandon Harris will play also.
Thanks I thought it was a good game. However, give us the next 3-4 games to get these freshman up to speed and we could be very dangerous.

I do think this year will be one of the most interesting years in the SEC West.
LSU - 38
WIS - 16

Stats:
Magee - 12 rush for 78 yrds
Hilliard - 17 rush for 117 yrds and 2 TD's
Williams - 5 rush for 22 yrds
Fournette - 9 rush for 65 yrds and 1 TD

Quinn - 5 rec 68 yrds and 1 TD
DeSean - 2 rec 28 yrds and 1 TD
Dural - 9 rec 92 yrds
Diarse - 5 rec 32 yrds
Chark - 1 rec 54 yrds and leads to our FG

I realize this is a CB thread, but just to hijack a moment...

We also seem to have an unusual amount of 6'4"-6'5" 200lbs-210lbs WR interested in LSU for 2015. Plus we have a QB for 2016 that is not a prototypical LSU QB. We have rarely had a top ranked QB come to LSU. I think with Cam Cameron here he is attracting QB's and of course WR's to go with those QB's.

Thanks,

This looks like it might be encouraging as far as helping these underclassmen understand that just because you can, doesn't mean you "Can".

Good article that shows staggering numbers:
Underclassmen to NFL

So, 37 out of 107 underclassmen were not selected in the draft. They may have been picked up later, but that is basically 35% of all underclassmen, that were not drafted. Those are big numbers...

Lets just hope this advisory council actually cares about these kids and don't increase these numbers to try and make themselves some money off the young players dreams.
