Especially when you realize that the proceeds of a good many of the goods that are sold in the Union and off campus --- t-shirts, hats, etc --- go directly to the University, not to the Athletic Dept. They will not sell LSU shirts nationwide without a strong athletic department.

Dad had a saying...that saying got me through college. "Those who can't do, teach" Meaning...those who can't do stuff like engineering, teach engineering. He was wise beyond his years. And what you state above expands correctly on that.
