LSU Heisman-winning quarterback Jayden Daniels announced Monday that he will be opting out of the Reliaquest Bowl vs. Wisconsin to prepare for the NFL Draft.

In a video he posted to social media, Daniels issued a heartfelt thank you message to Tiger Nation and ended the announcement with "Five-Out."

With Daniels not playing in the Bowl Game, quarterback Garrett Nussmeier will likely make his first career start vs. the Badgers on Jan. 1.

The "Me" generation.

And a whole bunch of y'all will soon be along fawn all over him and make excuses for this mindset among college athletes.

You big dummy. What does he gain by playing for an irrelevant bowl game?

Would you skip your final exam in college if it didn't count toward your final grade if you needed to prepare for a once in a lifetime interview? If you say no, you are being disingenuous

Would have been great to see the Heisman winner in the P&G on the field one more time, but I get it. It's the right move.

Don't let no one tell you that you quit on lsu and players. You have nothing else to prove young man. You chose your profession and now you're protecting your career. Enjoyed your game. Will be keeping up with you. Wish saints were smart enough to keep you home

I hope Nabers is still coming to beat that record. He'll just have to do it with balls thrown by Nuss! Next man up!

If LSU had made a meaningful bowl game I feel like he would have suited up one more time. Best of luck, JD!

Ready to see what Nuss can do.

I would have loved to see him purple and gold one more time, but it’s also probably best for the future that Nussmeier gets a start. Geaux Tigers
