So does he get 36M over 4-5 years PLUS a 23M bonus? Meaning 59M total once its all done? If he is getting 23M upfront and then the rest of the 36 over 4-5 years, that means he'd be making about 3.2M a year as opposed to about 8M a year.

Hurrdee-durr...You do know the Players' Union agreed to slotting Draft Choices pay a long time ago? That offer would have been exactly the same for anyone chosen #1 Overall and btw: ur dum I

How are the details on a first round pick's contract even remotely leaking right now? I wouldn't sign anything until the rest of the first round has started signing. And further, I wouldn't take a penny less than whatever the most a 1st round pick has EVER signed. JaMarcus Russell signed a 6 year, $61,000,000 contract including $32,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $10,166,667. If the Bengals aren't offering that, I'm sitting on the couch for however long it takes.

Your mentality is the reason rookies never pan out, and the reason the NFL is the way it is. A millionaire complaining about not being a bigger millionaire is the most petty shite you can do.

The guy took natural ability and paired in with solid work ethic. He splashed in a healthy dose of leadership to top it off. The Bengals saw the value. His parents deserve so much credit for raising this man. Well deserved

One year of great play set him up for life, but more importantly, set me up for life to be happy as an LSU fan.

So the way it's written: Is it 36M PLUS the 23M signing bonus or is the 23M bonus part of the 36M? It's truly an honest question, I don't know.

Deserves every penny. GooD for him. Now that he is a pro LSU should give him about $5 million for marking their pockets a little deeper.

Not like LSU did anything for him, huh? Maybe Joe should give LSU a cut of his contract
