LSU quaterback Garrett Nussmeier spoke with reporters after the Tigers season finale win over Oklahoma on Saturday night and was asked if he has decided on whether he is coming back next year.

Nussmeier said he has not made any decision yet but will get into those discussions early this week.
quote:

"I have not decided about that," Garrett Nussmeier responded.

"I have not had any discussions or conversations. I wanted to leave that out until after the season, so I didn’t want to go over that."

"I can’t really tell you where I’m at right now or what I think. I know that I love being here at LSU. I love this team. I love this school, this organization, this family, and the fanbase.

"I'll get into those conversations early this week and try to figure everything out from there."
Head coach Brian Kelly hinted that some "key players" would be returning next season but did not reveal any names. We'll have to wait and see as players announce decisions.

He has discussed nothing... Maybe I will, maybe I wont....Talk is cheap...No rush to the NFL...Some kids will never have to go pro....Just stay in school, redshirt, and hang around....

JB and JD were better runners and did more of that in their 1st years so yes their passing numbers would be lower then someone who mainly passes.

You realize that Nuss could develop more as a runner in the same way they developed more as passers right? He doesn’t have to be a dual threat QB. He just needs to take the 6-7 yards when they are there. That’s all something that can be coached and requires no athleticism, only decision making

Yes this.... he needs to run to pick up a first down 2-3 times a game at critical times..... not be a Jaden Daniels out there. He's always been a thrower, but can be developed, just like Jaden had to be developed to throw.

Gotta make sure that NIL gets as high as it can before he confirms. Jackson Dart got angry at kiffen last year for saying he was coming before that was all done and kiffin had to backtrack.

There is no way Collins transfers if Nuss wasn't coming back. I believe he's already had those discussions with Kelly and his dad. He is already a top 5 pick in the draft. Could he be first QB taken next year? yes. Could he use another year to work on some of his weaknesses? yes. And he's already seen what staying for second year did for JB and JD and also gives Hurley another year to physically mature and get prepared to take over for Nuss. Maybe even get some PT next year.

You're on crack. Nussmeir will not be a top 5 pick. Might not be a 1st rounder. He's ranked as only the 5th or 6th best qb in a rather weak qb draft. No team is wasting a 1st round pick on the 5th or 6th best qb. Likely mid 3-5 round pick.

Another year could definitely boost him into that realm if he develops better footwork, better accuracy downfield, more mobility.

It is impressive how great his 1st year numbers are compared to the 1st year of either Burrow or Daniels.

Could be as simple as they laid it out nicely for Collins and didn't think he was good enough to ever be a starter here so they told him best route is he might want to look elsewhere. Might not have anything to do with Nuss.

This is click bait. We knew all this already.

He was asked about it for the first time. Just because he didn't give a definite answer, doesn't mean the question/answer isn't newsworthy.

The only future game I want him suiting up for is the Music City Bowl.

Dude, leave the base. You are ignorant. Just so knuckleheads may get it, here is Nuss' first year as a started compared to Burrow, when they were both 4th year players.

Nuss- Comp: 63.7 Yards: 3,735 Avg. 7.6
TD 26 Int 11 QB Rating 140.7

Burrow: Comp: 57.8% Yards: 2,894 Avg:7.6
TD 16 Int: 5 QB rating 133.2

And if think Burrow did not cost us games in 2018, you clearly did not watch the Florida game. Comments like these show pure ignorance.

No you being fooled by stats is driving the rest of us insane . That was a completely different offense hence when you changed it the 5700 will never be touched . Only reason he is even close to Jayden is cause he bailed us out leading us in rushing yards as well . Garrett can only look and throw one way and that’s mostly the sidelines . If it ain’t deep he can’t complete it . Haven’t seen a drag all year
