BATON ROUGE – LSU has added four Louisiana teams to its future non-conference football schedule beginning with a game against Northwestern State on Aug. 28, 2027, the school announced on Friday.

Other additions to future LSU football schedules include the Tigers hosting Louisiana-Monroe and Southern in 2028 followed by Tulane in 2030. In 2028, LSU will open the season against ULM on August 26 followed by hosting Southern in week 3 on September 9.

The game against Southern will mark only the second meeting between the teams and the first since 2022 when the Tigers beat the Jaguars, 65-17, in the home opener that year.

In 2030, Tulane will make its first trip to Tiger Stadium since 2009 when LSU hosts the Green Wave in the season-opener on August. 31.

LSU opens the Lane Kiffin era on Saturday, September 5 when the Tigers host Clemson in Death Valley.

LSU Football – Future Schedule Additions

2027
Aug. 28 Northwestern State

2028
Aug. 26 Louisiana-Monroe
Sept. 9 Southern

2030
Aug. 31 Tulane

Totally disagree. Give the state schools a chance to come get paid. And with a new coach in Faulk I'm glad to see SU coming back to TS

It was the worst Gameday experience that I've ever had. I will be selling those tickets in 2028 and watching from home.

We should play a Week -1 game to give us time to prepare for our week 0 barnburners

The idea of another 62-0 beat down of Tulane makes me smile

I know you think that sounded cool....but nobody beats Tulane like that anymore lol. Its not 2008.

We should be playing them before Southern. Playing Southern is a complete waste of time.

Tulane lost two games to Ole Miss this past season, 45-10 and 41-10. They also lost to UTSA 48-26. I expect LSU to spank Tulane when they play.

We should not be playing FCS teams.

For an opener, I disagree.........Finally, LSU is approaching the schedule to win with a tune-up game.

Do you really want to win so bad that it's worth playing shite teams? I'm a fan bc I enjoy watching competitive games. This shite doesn't move the needle. Plus southern on LSUs campus was a horrible idea last time

Well that’s four opportunities for local businesses and hotels to not get my money those weekends. Looks like I’ll get more money for golf trips

I don’t have a problem with playing any of these teams. The trouble is, that it puts a non-competitive game that nobody wants to watch on the season ticket book. Season ticket holders are forced to buy tickets to a blistering hot non-competitive game that nobody wants to watch.

Yall were begging for week 0 tune up games when LSU was getting their asses kicked by UCLA, FSUx2 and USC in openers. Now we are finally getting some week 0 games and yet yall still complain. Never change tiger rant

The only "state" schools we should be scheduling is Tulane and La. Tech. All the other directionals or past directionals should never be on LSUs schedule.

2027 & 2028 in week zero before matchups vs Houston (2027) & vs SMU (2028)

A tuneup opener is now always a good idea in today’s college football. Especially this year (when of course we don’t have one because of the jackals that were formally running the program) more than ever: New coach, new (complex) system and half the roster is new players, hello? Wouldn’t it be nice if the high iq guys were already in place before now, and the new coaches could get a (scrimmage) game to tweak and begin the process of getting our reads and offensive timing down, which the new system is heavily dependent on? Probably would have been nice, but oh well, I can see Kiff is getting this thing remedied now
