John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports
CBS Sports recently ranked the Top 25 Power Five coaches in College Football and pegged LSU's Ed Orgeron at No. 4. Here's what they had to say about Coach O:
quote:

No. 4 LSU's Ed Orgeron:

Orgeron climbs 26 spots to No. 4 in our rankings, and gosh, I just can't figure out why that happened! Maybe it has something to do with winning a national title last year with what might have been the greatest team in college football history? That's just a theory, though. OK, in all sincerity, Orgeron is a fantastic story. Nobody thought he'd be a head coach again after his failure at Ole Miss, and many believed LSU blew it when they missed out on Jimbo Fisher and then Tom Herman, instead retaining Orgeron full-time after a stint as interim coach. But Orgeron did something so few people are capable of accomplishing. He not only recognized his past mistakes, but he actively went out of his way to solve them. He looked at his program, saw the shortcomings and found ways to improve it. Then he reaped the rewards. 2019 rank: 30 (+26)
Here's the Top 10:
1. Nick Saban, Alabama
2. Dabo Swinney, Clemson
3. Lincoln Riley, Oklahoma
4. Ed Orgeron, LSU
5. Brian Kelly, Notre Dame
6. Kirby Smart, Georgia
7. Jimbo Fisher, Texas A&M
8. Dan Mullen, Florida
9. James Franklin, Penn State
10. Ryan Day, Ohio State

Orgeron just beat the breaks off Lincoln, Dabo & Lil Nicky. Give O his flowers right now!!!

Ryan Day at #10 after being a head coach for what, 2 years? And he took over a stacked program built up by Urban. I think we should give him another couple of years before we start saying he's a top ten coach in the country.

I guess yaw yaw footbaw is a thing of the past...??

Dan Mullen is underrated; Lincoln Riley is overrated and Coach Orgeron is tied for number 1 with Saban and Swinney.

I agree. Think he's consistently a good coach and he proved that with his stay at MSU. He's going to be good for UF.

So coach “O” and nine others..... so Coach “O” only had a 6-0 record against this top ten list this year... and destroyed Oklahoma in a playoff game but still they rank Riley ahead of home!!!!

Orgeron just beat the top three in the same season. I don’t think he’s number one or even two, but Lincoln Riley? LOL

Must really be embarrassing for Texas that Pee-wee Herman was ranked ahead of Tom.

Ed #1? He beat all 3 in front of him in the same season, it's worth something. Jumbo #7, no way a top 10 coach does not lose 50-7. Kelly please. Herman, well texas deserves you and the money you cost them. Thank God for unanswered prayers.
