CBS Sports latest mock draft from Ryan Wilson has former LSU wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase getting selected No. 9 overall to the Cincinnati Bengals where he could team up with Joe Burrow.

The only other receiver ahead of Chase in the mock draft is Alabama's Jaylen Waddle who is out for the rest of the season with a broken ankle.

No way in Biden's America that Waddle goes before Chase

I don’t get your point. Biden’s America? Do you think Waddle is white or something?

That was funny, like Beijing Biden or not.

Cincy needs OL more than a WR.

They do, but if they aren't in the Sewell sweepstakes, they'd go for Chase.

I don't see how Marshall isn't in top 10

Mac Jones?

If Washington drafts him that early, they are STUPID! They'll get yet another failed QB that early. He may make a good transition, but not with that high a pick.

Fake news. They have good WR they need OL How do I see this but someone that does this for a living doesn't have a clue?

Cinci could go this route. The are probably better off addressing their OL issues in free agency instead of the draft.

Better get Joe a left tackle

Yea...I'd probably consider that if I were the Bengals....maybe they are looking at free agency for that. I'd like talent and experience watching Joe's blind side if it were me.

I’d rather free agency to find a wise, seasoned vet. Pay that man his money.

Joe will know if they want him to sign a second contract by who they draft. They should choose wisely.

I don't believe Waddle would have gone before Chase pre-injury....much less after the injury which surely keeps him out of the Combine and pro-day I'd guess. Chase should destroy the measurables at Combine or pro-day...and pass the all important eye test.

Henry Ruggs went before Justin Jefferson, Ceedee Lamb and Jerry Jeudy. Someone will fall in love with Waddles speed. He’s got legit 4.2 speed and he’s a hell of a wideout. Chase with another year of film would for sure go above him but now I think it’ll be close

If there is a team that values speed over other qualities it could be the same case like last year. Also, cincy isnt picking a wr and waddle isnt going that high.
user avatar
Datbayoubengal42 months
@Solo Cam. Has nothing to do with extra film as Waddle doesn't even have as many catches as Chase does in his career. This guy is just matching college QBs with their former WR teammates. That is the only reason why Waddle is listed before Chase.

WR is not the issue at Cinn but that secondary and OLine need work. Chase will not be going to Cincy

Bad teams always overvalue straight line speed. I wouldn’t be surprised if it happens.
user avatar
SeanLSU42 months
Devonta Smith is the Bama WR teams will want. I don't see Waddle going in the top 15 unless he heals up very well and blows everyone away at the combine with more than just speed. Right now he's just a speed guy who can return punts. Brandin Cooks coming out of college. Doesn't mean he can't show more than that or develop into more, but that's his comp right now.

Rumor going around is that the Bengals are going to go after Chase in the draft and will also try and trade Joe Mixon and Bernard to KC for Clyde.

Impotent Waffle42 months
I mean would be cool but a very dumb pick on Bengals part. Their O line is awful
user avatar
225Tyga42 months
Can make trades to get a good line. Youre an idiot.
user avatar
tubucoco42 months
You right, OLine is more important, Cincy has WR's that have come on like Green. Green is now playing like the old AJ Green!
user avatar
tigbit42 months
They should be drafting Offensive Linemen before it is too late.
user avatar
TigerintheNO42 months
I don't think they will draft high enough for Sewell; every other offensive lineman in the draft would be a risk to take in the top 12, with so much needs and so much still available.
user avatar
SeanLSU42 months
I'd love to see Chase with Joe in Cincy, but it doesn't make much sense for what the Bengals needs are. They can move AJ Green and bring in a WR from trade/free agency. They need top OL talent in the draft and defensive help in coverage. They also have a hole to fill on the DL now that they moved Carlos Dunlap to the Seahawks. WR is just not a high enough need for a first round pick when there are options there in FA. Next season you have Tee Higgins as your WR1 with Boyd at WR2. You can get an WR3 and WR4 in lower draft rounds and in FA. Chase is stepping onto a roster as WR2 with a chance to move to WR1 in training camp.

Of course they'd predict Chase to a team with an LSU QB and same with Waddle to a team with a a1abama QB.

If Miami was wise they'd draft T Marshall.

Same. His breakout year is covid year when all defenses suck due to limited practice time.

Weird seeing Mac Jones so high to a team that just drafted a QB 2 years ago. Is it time to move on from Haskins? Idk how you could know what you have in that shite show of a franchise. I feel like a lot of qbs would look like shite in the current state of that roster.
