I hope everybody liked the style of play from Mingo and Montgomery...

Mingo is 6'5", 240 lbs, and ran a 4.55 40
Montgomery is 6'5", 260 lbs, and ran a 4.65 40

Bower is 6'5", 241 lbs, and runs a 4.8 40
Herron is 6'5", 245 lbs, and runs a 5.1 40

The new guys may not be quite as fast right now, but they're still plenty fast and I'm looking forward to watching them compete to start on the best D line in the SEC!

All of our guys stayed with us and we got Bower, and we are done by noon!! This was a great, stress free NSD!

Is this the first class ever to not sign a running back? :dunno:

This is one of the smoothest less dramatic signing days that I can recall in a while.

There were not that many surprises.

Bower definitely lessens the blow from RN
Nice pickup Les!

Who knows, RN might be as good as he gets now whereas Bower might project a little better than advertised.

I'm pleased with this class other than safety so that will be a major need in next year's class and should help with Hootie Jones and some of the TX guys LSU is in on.

RB will be a major need as well.
I'm sure it was by design with Fournette

BeaverG, I know some of them are not. Perry Riley isn't old enough to father Duke Riley, and Beckwith is a cousin of Darry.

I might be late to the party (I might have even missed it), but are these people siblings of former Tigers?:

-Jeryl Brazil (Benne)
-Kendell Beckwith (Darry)
-Kevin Spears (Marcus)
-Duke Riley (Perry)

What's up with Bain?

Two threads say his LOI is in, but nothing on LSUsports.net...

We got some major talent on defense:

Bain, Gilmore, Neal, Bower and Harron on the DL, Beckwith and Jones at LB and White and Robinson at CB.

:nana:

And offensively, I'm really excited about Rettig and Jennings at QB and Leslie and Johnson at WR. I think all of our offensive linemen are going to be beasts as well.

:nana:

A lot of talent in this class!!!

I know Right? we live in a day full of engineered nutrition and better training.

Andy Dodd and Bain are built very solid, they will continue to get fed very well at LSU.

Shea Dixon ?@Sheadixon

It's been a wild morning for Tashawn Bower, and if his fax arrives at #LSU here shortly, it will be a major flip for the Tigers.

Just saw that..

..and some ESPN article was saying Miles/LSU was losing the ability to recruit since we don't have anyone from Texas this year.

Just looking at this short list of LOIs already received is extremely reassuring.

This is going to be one of the best recruiting classes LSU has ever had.

It's too bad RN chose OM, but I don't think anyone is at all surprised by that. Heck, I'm happy for that guy-- Gets to play with his brother, mom and dad are happy, and he's not playing for Houston Nutt.

That said, I wouldn't trade any of the LOIs I see in the OP for the #1 ranked recruit. These guys got up early to announce "Hell yeah, I'm a Tiger!"
