His receiver looks like a prospect as well

Does he read progression or just three step let it fly down the sideline all the time?
user avatar
Not trying to dis. Just hard to tell off those highlights.

It’s 8th grade, and his receiver is the most athletic kid on the field. He knows where it’s going before the play is called.

He may eventually learn to read a defense. But on that film, it looks far from a necessary procedure.

that's great. He looks good. But I doubt he's 13 years old which is the proper age for an eighth grader. He's probably 15 if I had to guess which is really not much less impressive.
I'm always suspicious of actual age when they only say he's a ______ - grader.

Thompson won their 4th State Championship in a row last night. He’s got 4 more years, so, he’s got a chance to break a lot of Alabama records.

a coworkers son plays on Thompson, and he said the kid is unbelievable gifted - his performance last night was the definition of dominance. and he has more years of HS Ball left. hope he does well.

Winning a State Championship as a QB is not important.

Look at Arch Manning. He's the greatest High School QB to ever play High School Football and he accomplished that feat without any team titles.

Greatest HS QB ever? Is that a joke or sarcasm?

His Dad and uncles were losers as well in high school. They were losers in college as well. The pros must be easier.

He was stuck behind a senior starter (who has P5 offers on the table) I went to the first Hoover game and they brought in this kid for a couple series and he looked great. He was also playing JV games. Anyway, Thompson went back to the senior and lost that first Hoover game. The senior got a concussion and Trent was handed the reigns and led them into the playoffs where they beat Hoover like 48-14 or something and then was voted the MVP last night in a blowout win over Auburn. He has as much talent as I've ever seen in high school. Good speed, size, rifle arm, accurate.

That's awesome. I sure hope he develops and matures. Most of these kids that blow up early tend to fall off and never make it big.

Being able to dominate in 7A Alabama football is already hitting the point where you're a serious D1 candidate. Doesn't need to develop too much from there to play at an elite P5 program. Obviously the NFL is another huge jump.

This kid has to have some good size hands! Not many 8th graders can sling a high school ball like that.
