Try Big Shakes, not too far from where you are. Nashville hot chicken place but the catfish is really good.
Cotton Row, Commerce Kitchen, 1892, Pane e Vino, all downtown are very good. What area of town are you looking?

I really enjoyed the octopus vinaigrette app. Otherwise I was generally disappointed in the food. Staff was great and the interior was fine but the food was underwhelming. I hope your experience is better than mine but I doubt if I return.
drive up to Piney Lake. Beautiful Alpine lake. Trials start there, canoeing and an ok restaurant.

I can second the Kuchera rec. Works hard and makes sure everyone is safe.

Wife and I ate at Justine a month ago. I liked the place but I thought the food was just ok. Would return for drinks and maybe an appetizer but would not recommend for a special dinner.

Miss Mary Bobo's. Family style southern food. Been around forever. Will need to call and make reservations

If you are in nearby Fayetteville check out Honey's on the square. Old pool hall now converted to a restaurant that serves unique "poolroom" burgers.

Huntsville City Schools are not as bad as reported. Some are bad some are really good. Huntsville has been under a deseg order for 50 years. My kids are in Huntsville schools and are doing great. There are lot of good public school options in the Huntsville area. Just do a little more research. Madison is fine and there are good county schools as well. Everyone saying all the Huntsville schools are terrible are painting with a very large brush. Lots of very successful kids are graduating from Huntsville High and Grissom every year. I would focus on those feeder systems.

Cyprus Inn had a change in ownership and has not been the same since. It was good, it is not now. Side by Side is my recommendation.
My kids liked La Rôtisserie d'Argent and les Relais Entrecôte in Paris. Both were very kid friendly.

For breakfast Commerce Kitchn, Purveyor and the Lumberyard all have a nice Sunday brunch. Commerce Kitchen and Purveyor are great for dinner too. Gibson’s bbq has a great old school breakfast, homemade biscuits and country ham.

Check out Bigfoot’s Litte Doughnuts for Saturday bfast.
I was in Lexington in April with a group and we were disappointed in the Four Roses tour. I would not recommend.

We ate lunch at Bourbon on Main. Pretty cool place with a patio out back overlooking a river. Food was pretty good and the bourbon selection was impressive.

The Old Talbot Inn in Bardstown is a pretty cool place for lunch if you are near that area. The food is not great but it was built in 1779, lot of interesting history and their bourbon tasting flights are a good deal with lots of options.

The only other suggestion I would make is to stay in Lexington if possible. It is a fun town with lots of good restaurants and bars.

Lots of good places.

St. John's restaurant for high end dining
Aretha Frankenstiens for breakfast
Tupelo Honey is good
Urban Stack for Burgers
Public House is a cool bar with good apps

This is just a few of what I have enjoyed. There are a lot more.

Tennessee does not require a license if hunting on a preserve.
Craig's Game Preserve is a great property for quail and pheasant hunts. Mr. Craig is a great guy and very hospitable. Probably about an hour from Nashville. LINK
Dudley's is solid and a fun atmosphere.

Commerce would be my choice.
