Looking for a great food spot to take the family on the way home today. We're leaving Chattanooga after lunch looking to make a stop about half way. Any suggestions, maybe between Tuscaloosa and Meridian

Pack some sandwiches and eat them at the Boligee rest stop?

Crazy question, but the answer is without a doubt Weidemann’s.

I knew the question was crazy, but we have had some really good food on vacation in Chattanooga and didn't want to end the trip on fast food. Just didn't there might be something good half way back

There's pretty much nothing along that stretch but fast food and truck stops.
A few decent places in Meridian.

There’s a Thai place in a trailer somewhere in Meridian that’s supposed to be excellent. May take reading some reviews to find it.
Weidmanns is a great place to stop though, it’s got classic old-downtown charm.

Cypress Inn in Tuscaloosa - several miles off the interstate, but worth the detour.

If you're getting off at the Boligee exit, at least eat at the Boligee Cafe

How about other suggestions closer in to Louisiana?

Plaid Rhino is Hattiesburg is our go-to. Even has a free game room for the kids.

This is the answer. It's a shack in Northport, AL.
Avenue Pub and Central Mesa are good spots as well in downtown Tuscaloosa.
Tons of options in Birmingham as well. Any of the Saw's locations would be great for lunch.

We're actually South of Tuscaloosa now. We're making good time. Probably gonna eat closer to LA now for dinner. Any suggestions?

Pretty good steaks. Potatoes not always good. Caramel Cake to die for. Close to interstate.
