Is Albasha the best restaurant in Baton Rouge?

Albasha is the only restaurant that I have to go to every time I visit baton rouge. Elsies is awesome, Chimes and Parrains too. But something about that combination plate with extra grecian sauce that keeps me coming back every time.

Cafe Phoenicia > Albasha

It's not even the best shawarma in BR. I would single out the shawarma from Cafe Petra on Perkins near Essen. I also think that Serop's gyro meat is better.
I like Albasha, but I don't think that it's anything incredible.

First of all, I’ll never get the love for Parrain’s. Never had a good meal there. That being said, Serop’s meat is usually drier than Albasha. Albasha is always consistent which I appreciate but I’d never call it one of the best restaurants in town.

I always liked Atcha Bakery on Nicholson. Sure, it was most likely a front for an Islamic terrorist organization, but the food was always really good.

Zorba’s on Essen is consistently my favorite restaurant in Baton Rouge. Everything always seems fresh. The combination souvlaki is my go-to. Shrimp Santorini is great as well.

Zorba’s is great but I still prefer their old location where LA Lagniappe is now.

Best is kind of nebulous term. They're certainly one of the best at maintaining consistency across all their locations for the past 20+ years.
Albasha's chicken schwarma, dressing and fried cheese taste better than anyone else's in BR. The pita they use is okay, there are better pita options nowadays that would probably go over well with their customers but I understand the need to maintain their rock solid consistency.

I think it's very good for what it is, but not even in top 10.

The Economides Family really does a great job.

Albasha’s is my favorite restaurant and I’ll die on that hill. Nothing is better than the mesa for two and Lebanese tea.

Zorbas is the wife’s fav. Consistently good.

Generally, I like Albasha (Bluebonnet is where we usually dine), but the last couple years, the results have been hit and miss. The Sharama has been dry and overcooked, the lamb shank flavorless. Their pitas are no better than grocery store versions. We had started alternating Albasha's and Serop's until they closed their Corporate location. My preferred Greek restaurant has always been Zorba's. Although, admittedly, we order different things there. Not sure I've ever had their Sharama or Gyro, maybe at lunch.

albasha hits the spot when you want the easy button. But yes the flavors are generally bland and the pita is mediocre

Albasha Pita is a test or something. It never opens without a tear.

Romans is far better than Albasha

There's a lot of good Greek/lebnese in the BR area. I love me some Albashas. Used to eat it at probably every other week before I changed jobs. I don't know that I'd say it's the best but I do find it consistently good. Serops express is what fast food/fast casual wishes they could be. I've only been to zorbas a couple times but it was really good when I did. Romans is also good stuff. I think I'm going to be eating Greek tomorrow.
