re: Very embarrassing look for Yale to put their name on this “Medicare for all” study
Posted by dieabeatyou on 8/18/26 at 2:02 pm to Ten Bears
I stopped using health care. Life span maxxing is for losers.
Why spend all that money to be miserable in diapers, imbecilic, and a net drain.
Our ancestors had it right, work hard live fast make lots of babies, die.
Medicare for all? How about no health care for anyone we can spend that money elsewhere.

They want the status of motherhood, they just don't understand the costs ahead of time. It's like getting behind on a mortgage -- most people walk away, a lot fantasize about burning the house down out of spite -- and a precious few make good on those promises. I understand, but it's still unforgivable and ghoulish. The fangirls are all just moral cowards hiding behind keyboards like incels. The ones who publish to slate and salon, WP, and NYT are actual sociopaths interested in getting attention, money, and advancing their status with other sociopaths.
Why are Laurie Adams and John Adams not under indictment?

I am all for locking up corrupt public officials. I think it's gross that the parish has an indicted representative and an indicted super intendent that the rest of us non indicted people must defer to on matters of governance and education. It bites at fairness and the conscience. Rule by criminals degrades social norms. Even the appearance of evil...
I have no problems with any of the indictments that have been handed down.
Laurie Adams (District 11, MC) and John Adams clearly took 780K of state money directly from the LORA program and bought a house with it. Blatantly. If embezzlement were exhibitionism, they'd be running around in trench coats. If ever there were an open and shut case, this is it. This was made public in 2024, we're nearing the end of 2026. Where are their indictments?

That's fine. Why hasn't Laurie Adams whose signature is on the document exhibiting her husbands theft of funds from the state to buy their home, been indicted as well?

Tax policy is a complicated and nuanced topic that resists simplifying to cause and effect analysis.
Frequently the complicated reality of tax policy today is the result of layered and contradictory attempts to mitigate damage caused by one size fits all policies of the past -- such is the reality of solutions created by representative democracy.
Your mileage may vary.

re: Counterpoint to all of the sky screaming about surveillance and flock cameras etc
Posted by dieabeatyou on 7/8/26 at 3:25 am to Big4SALTbro
It happens already. In Britain they have total surveillance like us, but reduced protections for freedom of expression or thought. Because they cannot just kill people, yet, they pretend disappear people by arresting them for thought crime, publicly humiliating them, depriving them of the ability to work forever, and then they make thought criminals permanently impoverished wards of the state. They do legally what we do with unbanking and cancel culture. In Islamic countries and narcostates where no pretense of Democracy is needed, actual police states just disappear you, like the Saudis did that "journalist" who pissed off the Prince. Maybe if you really pissed off the authorities they'll leak audio to your family, before they grind your corpse into kibble and dispose of it in a way that is culturally offensive. That's a police state. What we're experiencing right now is bullying by organizations that anticipate unhinged unmitigated power, all your little law enforcement goon friends have justice boners for the day when they can just yoink someone's wife out of their house cause they didn't like the way she changed lanes, and point to some AI witness to justify it. This flock stuff is scaffolding for, the eventual erection of all of the above. Once this sht is in place, legally protected, and your fourth amendment rights sufficiently eroded, it's only a matter of time before the "wrong" authoritarian prick gets into power and you and your LGBTQIA club or Founding Father's Fan Fiction Larp Society are suddenly understanding why Ruby Ridge was a horseshoe theory shttest for the normal distributed IQ curve.

If I were on the jury I'd vote to acquit. Stand your ground isn't just for YT. Veteran or not don't run up on a scared fellow citizen who has a gun, multiple times. You are not the main character and you don't have plot armor. I am a white.

I thought it was inspiratonal and he should hang a lamp on it. "Heck yeah I'm out in the desert, heck yeah, I'm completely exposed humiliated, seemingly defeated by overwhelming forces, all they have on me is an allegefly small donger. Yet I persist" Subvert the criticism. Poke-a-hauntus would come out of the woodwork to be aggrieved.
