Where to go in October for a young couple

My girlfriend's (no pics) bday is in October and I'm trying to find some places we could go to for a long weekend, we are in our mid 20's so open to anything in US, any suggestions? We've already done Nashville, Vegas, and LA so not those places. TIA
ETA: Flying out of MSY if we fly anywhere if that makes a difference.

it would help to know what y'all like to do
if you like cities and want to avoid the cold, I'd do Charleston or Asheville or maybe San Diego
if you like more outdoorsy things, me and my wife went to Aspen in October, and while some things were closed due to it being the offseason, we still had a great time and found plenty to do
the NE, like Vermont/New Hampshire is beautiful that time of year as well

Aspen in October is a sneaky good idea. Though getting back to Denver gets takes a lot longer if snow closes the pass.

Good point, honestly we both like outdoorsy and cities. I think we may be going to Colorado and NYC in 2022 (with family) so those are probably out. I was thinking San Diego would be really cool as were supposed to go there the week everything shut down for COVID. Wish I could swing Kentucky for LSU game or DC for saints game but I doubt I can.

On average, Chicago hovers in the high 50s and low 60s in October. Would be a pleasant time to visit, if you're looking to skip the summer heat.

Fredericksburg Tx for their Octoberfest weekend is a fun time if that’s your sort of thing. Plenty of options in the area for other activities.

Fredericksburg in October is really nice. Hit up wineries as well.
Or just go to the Gruene Wine Festival. You need to see when tickets go on sale as they always sell out. It's a fun Texas style music festival combined with wine and the hill country.

We really enjoyed our trip to Stowe, Vermont. Went in late October and the weather, although getting colder, was still fine. Early October, and you get peek leaf season. That will involve more crowds.
Great hiking, beer, and food. It is completely different than any place you’ve already done, so that can either be a good thing or bad.

Forest long weekend trip I don’t know what city you live in if you’re in the center of Louisiana a short drive to Kemah Texas near Galveston would be a nice long weekend trip. There are plenty places to eat great seafood, there’s also plenty live entertainment in Kemah.

We went to Missoula Montana last October. The weather wasn't too cold (ranged from upper 20's some nights to upper 60's during the day). It's a fun little college town with good restaurants and bars. There are plenty of hikes and outdoors things to do in the area, too.
Another good spot would be Carmel and up through Napa/Sonoma if you guys enjoy wine.

It looks like we are down to Nashville, Boston, Hilton Head/Savannah, or NYC (all her choices). Personally I think Boston would be awesome

Of those I would choose Boston every time. I believe the beer gardens on the greenway will still be open (close November 1st IIRC). Lots of history and outdoor eating and drinking to enjoy the nice weather.

She is leaning Nashville, which is probably her favorite place. But neither of us have been to Boston and I love history so hopefully we choose there.

This would be my recommendation, but “long weekend” isn’t enough time.
Maybe just do Boston.

Vermont and drive the Scenic Route 100 Byway. Hit up breweries, eat pumpkin spice pancakes, Ben and Jerry's, Vermont Country Store, leaves changing colors...
