What’s the game plan for storm days at Disney?

Tomorrow looks to be bad weather all day. Not just rain, but storms.
What’s the game plan? Play in arcade at resort? Watch movies in room?
Trying to make most of it, but sucks that it’s looks to be a complete wash. I know the park will stills be open, but it looks like it’s not ever going to let up.

Brave the rain. You'll have the place mostly to yourself. Shelter whenever the lightning kicks up, but otherwise, it's just water.

Epcot is the best rain park IMO because their more popular rides are all inside so if you want to hit a park, make it that one.
There is a movie theater and bowling (plus shopping) at Disney Springs.
If you can make it over to the TTC you can always do one a monorail tour exploring Polynesian, Grand Floridan and Contemporary.

We are scheduled for Epcot tomorrow. We are going to make a try at it, but the weather looks rough, more than just rain.
We are Disney newbs, so just seeing if there were any tips or tricks to make it better for the kids.
Do you think Genie+ is needed on a rain day?

Depends.
If Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Frozen Ever After are on your “must do” list, then yes, I think Genie+ is worth it.
Are you staying onsite?

Hit the Mexico boat ride over and over, kids love it
Can even alternate with the wife so someone can drink margaritas while one rides with the kids

I always preferred umbrellas to ponchos. I’d rather be a little wet than sweaty and sticky from the poncho.
A lot of pavilions to dip in around the World Showcase and dodge the rain. You should be good.

I'd dress you and the kids up in swim trunks and rain jackets and make it a rain day. Wearing something you don't mind getting completely wet in. Pack some dry clothes in some zip locks if you need dry clothes for anything.

Yeh hit the park’s lines will be short make the most of it.. it’s just water.. Epcot does provide a bunch of shelters via resturants but AK does have a mostly covered Avatar que.. depends on what you haven’t hit or plan to hit

Good advice here and agree with Epcot sentiment. Only other thing I could recommend you would be to monorail hop big 3 resorts around MK. Might have some rain activities for kids and scavenger hunts (hopefully indoor). Lobbies there are pretty cool & also Wilderness Lodge lobby is amazing. Grab lunch or dinner from them as well.

Almost all of the EPCOT queues are covered or indoors; Soarin, Test Track, Remy, Frozen Ever After, Guardians, Mission Space, Three Caballeros, Living with the Land, The Seas with Nemo & Friends, Figment
Frozen Ever After MAY have a line that extends out beyond the building
Spaceship Earth is mostly outside and mostly covered but can get wet if there is alot of wind.

The other thing I like about Epcot is if the weather gets real bad and you need a break but want to come back you can hop on the monorail and head over to the TTC and the Monorail Resorts for a bit while things pass over

Yep, clothes that dries fast like wicking type fabrics. No jeans. The stroller we rented had clear zip up enclosure. There are couple of places to eat with characters performing and it took up lots of time. Think Animal Kingdom.

The only thing that will be closed will be test track…. Everyone else has same mindset, be one of the warriors and enjoy a less crowded park.
I buy genie + everyday and lightning lanes. Im not paying all that money to go stand in lines, what’s a few hundred more when you are spending thousands

This is a great suggestion. Just have some dry clothes to swap at the end of the day. Epcot is the best rain day park. 99% of the rides will be running and crowds will almost be nonexistent.
I would try to at least go to the park though. Rain days deter a lot of people and weather in the south can go as fast as it shows up. Never know when you might get at least an hour break in between showers.

Rainy days in parks can be nice.
-shorter lines
-cooler temps
-rains usually end

Epcot. Poncho. Spend hours inside Germany eating the buffet, drinking beer and watching the show. Park won’t be crowded.

And it sucks anyway

this was false FWIW
We did get to take advantage of short lines if we went to ride right after the rains stopped, there was like a 10 minute window where everyone was still coming out of hiding that you could find short lines
being stuck in a store/restaurant with a bunch of wet, tired, cranky kids is not fun though

Two of the longest hours of my life were spent at Epcot in the Japan gift shop with 3 kids and a bunch of nieces and nephews waiting for a torrential downpour and lightning storm to clear. Fun times indeed. I do still have the nice pair of chopsticks I bought though.
