Not unless you are taking a day trip. You don’t want a car it you are just staying on the strip.

Absolutely no reason to rent a car if you don't plan on leaving the strip. Uber from airport and walk/use monorail on the strip.

I wouldn’t rent a car. You can walk all around the strip or take an Uber.
And if it’s that kind of trip, all of the gentlemen’s clubs provide free transportation.

Big no if you’re just staying around the big strip and downtown . Especially if you drink and party . Parking will cost you more than a Uber .

To get around the strip, walk or Uber. The road construction for F1 race is crazy right now. Would take longer and cost more. Parking at hotel is average $20/day with in/out privileges. Only reason to rent a car is for a day trip to Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, Red Rock or Zion.

As others have said, it’s not necessary. But if you do (I have before), parking is fairly easy as most casinos have huge parking garages.

Ive been to vegas like 10-20 times and have never rented a car. I mostly use uber to get around its usually much cheaper than a cab.

A lot of the strip hotels have car rentals. I rented one at my hotel for about 6 hours to go to Hover dam. Easy Peasy
Hertz has locations at Caesars Palace, Paris, Planet Hollywood, Venetian/Palazzo, Cosmopolitan, the Plaza, the Rio, and JW Marriott; Avis has rental offices at Mandalay Bay, Excalibur, Bellagio, New York-New York, Park MGM, Mirage, Luxor, MGM Grand, Circus Circus, and Four Queens.

Why?

No need to rent a car there. Casinos now charge for parking. Just Uber everywhere.

If you want to go outside of the strip to the surrounding suburbs, you'll definitely need a rental car. The Las Vegas metropolitan area is super spread out

Walking the strip will give you plenty of free side shows from the fellow tourists, hustlers, and bums. Cabs and Uber are plentiful. Monorail is cheap to get from one end of the Strip to the other.

Maybe I'm a little foggy on my geography...but what? You flew to LV to drive to Pasadena?

It's nice to have a car. You can do things like go out and have breakfast at a normal diner for the cost of not $38.

Only rent a car if you're doing a day trip somewhere. Then only rent it for the day. Otherwise, hoof it, moving sidewalks, etc., or Uber/Lyft/Taxi.

I have twice lately for roadtrips. As others said, day trips are the only reason. Parking is easy if needed though. Also it is free at certain levels of play or if you have the MGM or Caesars Credit Card.

I always rent a car, but we typically go all over.
We may go out to Hoover dam or Red Rock. We also like to go to other casinos like the Rio for the comedy club.
We also like going downtown to the old section on Fremont Street.
If you are staying at a MGM hotel and pay to park then you can park at any of their properties and get in and out access.
We typically stay at Park MGM, best garage in my opinion plus easy drop off. We will take the car and park at the Bellagio and go to see the fountains.
