Wtf

This is going to cripple the Mexican tourism industry again. They have been receiving a very large number of USA visitors over the last few months.

Nightmare situation for Mexico, that had a huge advantage to attracting tourism by not requiring testing. Hopefully testing becomes a LOT easier and not too costly very quickly. Resorts are going to have to start doing it in the lobby. Wonder if they'll allow exceptions for vaccinated as well.

I have been reading that major tourism areas are somewhat set up for this already as Canada has already had this requirement.

We're 10 months into this with widespread community spread.

What's the fricking point?

Wonder if there will be exceptions if you’ve had the vaccine? It’s literally the only reason I’m willing to get vaccinated so I can travel internationally again and not have to get 50 different Covid tests every time.

Mexico is super fricked.

How can you justify a three/four day trip to the beach when you're busy waiting to be tested? Then waiting on a result?

Travel domestically for the near future, not worth it going international if this is the case. Drive to a state or national park, hit up a new ski mountain, beach town in a neighboring state, etc.

What I'm reading is the airlines will accept a negative test or "proof of recovery" but NOT proof of vaccination.

This is just so stupid. The people making these decisions are worthless. We’re a year into this thing and we have the vaccine but now we are requiring tests to fly? No common sense in these people

So I just booked isla mujeres (flight and hotel) for mid April. Basically what this means is that within 3 days of flying back to the US from Cancun I have to get a covid test and test negative? This is fricking retarded.

So what happens if you don’t do it? Does the article list repercussions?

WSJ article says airlines will be the enforcers. No test, no boarding to the US.

So insanely stupid.

Not sure about coming back, but you definitely need a negative COVID test to get in to the USVI’s.
