Aruba is super easy and very Americanized.Especially around Palm and Eagle Beach. It doesn’t have seaweed like Cancun and the surrounding areas do and never has hurricanes.

a lot of Caribbean places start shutting down for hurricane season starting late july/early august, so be aware of that.

July should probably be ok, but late summer I would strongly consider Costa Rica (west coast) and Mexico destinations since they are: 1) less likely to be affected by a tropical system coming out of the Atlantic, 2) Cancun, San Jose, Liberia, PV have bigger airports with more daily flights so you have to a better chance to get out in a hurry, 3) if stuck due to a storm they have better infrastructure to ride it out.

Aruba

Went once, don’t really need to go back. Some people love it.

Snorkeling the shipwreck and visiting the remote north side of the island were both cool.

The rest felt like Myrtle Beach to me. Too Americanized for me.

Check out Small Hope Bay Lodge on Andros Island, Bahamas.

Small lodge cabins on the water. Great family environment. Plenty of activities that include zero cement. Fishing, diving, exploring natural Bahamas out islands are vacation win every time.

Bora Bora hands down if you can afford it. The geography looks like something out of Avatar or Star Wars.

Another vote for Aruba. Stayed there for a few days this past Memorial Day. It was great and would definitely go back. Very safe; it's part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

It's definitely not "exotic". However being only a 4 hr flight from ATL makes it a good option if you are on the east coast.

Aruba is fine if you want a regular beach vacation

Bora Bora is what you want if you want a true escape

I’ve been there several times and enjoy it but the 4 hour flight from ATL to AUA doesn’t fit my “short beach vacation” criteria.

T&C or Grand Cayman would be my suggestion
