Didn't play our best tonight. Very proud of this group though. Szabo is a fantastic coach.

Point being that adhering to RPI is like judging a batter solely on batting average when OBP, OPS, and WAR also exist and tell a more accurate story of who a hitter actually is.
Exactly. RPI is an extremely flawed metric.

shite you not, we dropped 2 spots in the RPI after that win
We were 14 early in the week, now at 16
You have to understand how the math works. RPI is 75% your opponents' and their opponents' strength of schedule. If a lot of your non-conference opponents lost tonight, that will hurt you more than gaining one big road win. One game itself is minimal 50+ games into the season.

would recommend AirBnb
I went in December 2024 and would recommend the AirBNB/VRBO route all the way over a hotel so you can live like a local. Someone said VRBO has fewer restrictions in France, making it the better route. I stayed in the 11th arrondissement right on the border of Le Marais (3rd/4th). I also only paid about $150/night for a small apartment for two and absolutely loved it.
HUGE CAVEAT: Make sure there is air conditioning if you are going in July. The place I stayed at in December had nothing but a pedestal fan for cooling. I obviously didn't need it, but let's just say I'm glad I went in December and not the hot months.

Its gonna be interesting to see how the seeding shakes out now that they’re seeding the twos and doing pods.
The softball bracket this year is far from perfect, but the new bracketing rules actually made it more balanced than it's ever been.

If I only had one meal in Edinburgh, it would be at the Devil's Advocate in Old Town in a close off the Royal Mile. One great restaurant in New Town in Bon Vivant.
There's a lot to do in Edinburgh. Wish you had more time. Gladstone's Land is a tour into what life really used to be like in stinky Old Edinburgh. The term "shite faced" originated there. Definitely do Edinburgh Castle and walk into St. Giles.
Wish you had more time, but the National Museum of Scotland and Holyrood Palace are great. And if you had more time, the Royal Yacht Britannia is down by the port of Leith. The Georgian House is a tour of what life in New Town Edinburgh was like in the 1800s.

I'll take it. Proud of these boys.

DoE all SC teams who qualify for the tournament typically make it in?
As long as their non-conference schedule isn't crap, they typically get in.
This year's Auburn team has 9 wins over RPI Top 50 teams (and have played 33 games against the top 50). Teams in the ACC and Big 12 have better records but a worse RPI because their schedule is so much weaker.

Auburn's Glory Glory is much better than UGA's.

I’ve become increasingly more aware of how awful you bitches are.
That's because Alabama and Texas are the same in this analogy.
Tomorrow is SEC+ again so I'm assuming we will have their awful homer announcers again.

Fire the softball coaches TODAY!
Helluva start.
Auburn already sent A&M to the bull pen with no outs in the 2nd.

I remember when everyone said the only reason OU was good in softball and gymnastics was because they played in the Big 12. Now here we are first 2 years in the sec and about have conference titles in both sports their first 2 years.
OU softball has certainly been in tighter games and taken more lumps in the SEC than Big 12, but congrats on closing in on the regular season title for the 2nd year in a row.

Playing softball on a baseball field (unless they heavily modify it) is stupid. They tried it in Tokyo and it was terrible
Toyota Field in Huntsville will have a dirt infield and a full fence (not flimsy). 4 SEC schools played on this field in February 2025 and sent the feedback back to the league and the rest of the coaches.
Szabo and the ladies have done some historic things. I was afraid we were going to blow it several times, but Ionescu gutted it out.

I enjoyed Lamb and Flag. Good dinner with that old pub feel. Get a reservation.

NY has so many things to offer. To each their own, but to me the 9/11 museum is extremely underrated. I would recommend the Empire State Building, but go at night. Also, I'm a baseball person, and the Yankees are in town then.
A Broadway play is great, but not the top of my list. Other secondary things are also neat like the New York Philharmonic.
