Want to take our one year to see holiday themed towns during Thanksgiving. Wife suggested Dallas. Doesn’t need to be anything crazy.

The 1 year old won't remember. Just go on a solo trip and take pics around town after and tell the baby you took it on vaca with yall.

He may not remember, but I will remember the joy and wonder in his face. I didn’t have a kid to not make memories with him.

How about a 3 1/2 hour drive?
Natchitoches.
I was there last week and would like to go back to see the Christmas lights.

Dallas isn’t bad. Horse carriage rides thru Highland Park (early reservations recommended); Christmas train in Grapevine; ice sculpture at the Gaylord and I’m sure Fort Worth has something.

This may be too obvious, but New Orleans gets pretty dolled up for the holidays. Celebration in the Oaks, The Fairmont, Canal St, hotel lobbies, etc.

Dressed up for Thanksgiving? Just wait for Christmas bro

His wife wants to go to Dallas, if that wasn't obvious.

This is a very good point. A wife suggesting Dallas, or Cabo, or anywhere is a wife who will not be happy unless she goes to Dallas.

He has a 1 year old so might not have been married long enough to understand that the "suggestion" meant that is where she wanted to go.

This happens pretty frequently here, with men asking the board's opinion on something that will never happen. The replies that imply there is even an option to hit somewhere else "just as good, but cheaper," or "even better, but closer," just give false hope.

If you go to Dallas could go to the ICE at the Gaylord in Grapevine it's a huge ice sculpture display

It's more than just an ice sculpture.
etc. Might be too young for a 1 year old. They provide big puffer jackets in all sizes.

Oh I know, I went there last year. Dropped a shitton of money on that event
but my kids were 4 and 6 - they had a blast since they could ice skate, slide down the hill, etc. But the ice display was cold as hell and youngest wasn't a fan of the temp
I thought it was great
