To me, it's all about weather and time zones. Seattle offers a nonstop flight to Tahiti - it's only 2 time zones away (less change than Hawaii). I'd give that a shot.
Tahiti is kind of a couples destination
Which is why I posted more domestic trips that can be done solo

Traveling from Seattle and have 7 days, assuming trip will be soon so thinking location with sun and warmth, and you want to relax/reset.
Too many complicated options shared in this thread, I think your options are 3-4 hour flights (Sedona, San Diego, Cabo) or 6-7 hour flights (Hawaii or Costa Rica). Anything longer than that and your 7 days turns into 4 or 5 days.
I would suggest Hawaii, probably nice a resort on Maui.

Sorry, let me be clear. Don’t want to have random sex or even in the mood to meet women. Been in a relationship for 25 years and just need to reset
Smart. You should reset and put yourself in neutral for a bit and it sounds like you have a good idea of this. Well done.
If you're in Seattle and you want to chill, maybe take the Alaska ferry way up the inside passage. Looks like it takes a week to sail up to Skagway and back from Bellingham. They have private cabins.
Other ideas in your area: Rent a cabin/house in Canon Bay, Sandpoint, Bozeman...

That's a 12 hour flight.
quote:I disagree. e.g. if you fly from Seattle to Europe, you're talking an 8 - 10 hour time change...and it definitely can have you feeling off for much longer than one day.
Time zones aren't an issue for more than a day if you prepare.

It seems ludicrous to fly 12 hours

when he could just fly to Costa Rica
Basically, your facts are way off.

If chasing pros isn't the goal (good on you) .... then head over to Japan. Close enough with plenty of direct flights.
Not many places to clear your head and reset --- cities, beaches and mountains. And if you want a little lady trouble, it's there too.

Not been to Japan but its on my list soon.
I've been on some whirlwind trips in my day that many on here would hate like US-Asia and back in coach over 7 days, so its doable. But on a 7 day trip where the goal is to reset, spending 15 hours travel time door to door then dealing with the time change doesn't work, plus Japan takes a lot of planning.
If OP had 2 weeks, sure Japan could be a good choice.

I did Bangkok, Siem Reap, and Phuket in a a week.
No rest for the weary on that trip. Street chick in Bangkok was the best chicken I have ever had.
Just to be real you wouldn't get a direct flight to Japan unless you are on the west coast. Flying from the Midwest you will have a layover in TX, CA or IL most likely, travel time can take as long as 36 hours. Depends on where your airline has a hub.

If you want amazing boat tours go to Phuket.
I think that is why he is going.

Thanks to everyone who responded.Sorry I haven't responded. My problem is that i have vacationed in many of the places you all recommend or visited because of work(and play) and while great, most of them arealot of time to plan in a short amount of time. That's on me. I have decided to just go to vegas for a few days and do a few of the higher quality day spas to relax and clear my head. Sit in the heated pool at Circa, drink, and just chill. I'll still be around people so if I want to strike up conversation I can.

Have fun brother. If you feel a little more saucy you can head down to Key West for Fantasy Fest. Think Mardi Gras for 40 year olds.

Fun fact I learned on a Boat tour out of Phuket, The Beach (DiCaprio) didn't exist, it was cleared just for the movie. There is also James Bond Island. If you leave early and there is is mist you will think you are entering Kong Island.

Yep, you're right. I spent 10 years flying internationally, almost always in coach, and worked on five continents in a single calendar year. But I have no idea what I'm talking about. Tack that onto military and military brat experience, dragging toddlers onto 12 hour flights at 11pm in foreign countries, etc.
You can choose to be a soft arse traveler, or not. You choose soft. That's your prerogative. If you don't prepare yourself to be time zone changed in a single day, that's on you. Or you can do all kinds of dumb shite like taking a nap in the afternoon when you land in Europe, and make the transition take take 3-4 days. Sure, it's 1100AM at your destination, go ahead and sleep on the plane for five hours, that'll work out well. That's on the traveler. I made that mistake once when I was 12, and never did it again.
I bet you're a big whiner during daylight savings transitions, too.

I found it funny that I didn't have to change my watch while in Thailand and Cambodia, it meant I was half way around from where I started.

Vegas can make some sense.
If jt was summer, driving to Alaska from Seattle would be my choice. Long drives seem to clear my head.

We flew direct from ATL last summer. Long flight but it was better than connecting.

You can get direct flights to Japan from most of the hub airports. Dallas for sure, I think Chicago just added a few etc
