I flew today and I noticed that I get slightly annoyed when people gather around the gate when their boarding group isn’t even close to being called. It’s always been interesting to me, but the setup of the airport today made it so much more prominent.

And it’s not like I was First Class (no upgrade, booked flight). I was Main 1. But everyone in Main 2 was huddled around the gate and I had to fight my way through the sea of people just to board.

I’m not counting people who start trying to deboard the plane by walking past rows of people. That’s not minor to me, that is a major annoyance.

I was just curious what annoys other travelers on this board.

Yea, it happens these days. It's all about overhead space, people don't want to check a bag.

Upgrade and push through the crowd like you're an elite!

In general, I think people lose all sense of spatial awareness in airports... some think they are the only ones there... annoys me to no end..

The only thing that pisses me off is how fat most of the population is. Sounds harsh, but it is true. I get irritated watching these people waddle down the aisles and I just pray I’m sitting next to a normal sized human.

I get very annoyed by people that put jackets in the overhead.

For me, it's people don't know how to properly queue for the bathrooms in the back. VERY CLEARLY since there's a lot more room right outside the bathrooms, that is where people should stand, instead of lining up down the actual aisle which makes it impossible for people to come and go. And when I insist on walking all the way to the bathrooms, people panic and think they're being cut. No, fatty, I'm just competent. You're still going to go first.

It's also annoying that seemingly nobody knows that the armrests (in most planes) can flip up also. It makes getting in and out (for all 3 people ) MUCH easier. But instead, you see fatties leave them down and have an impossible time coming in and out.

Pretty much the entire experience these days. Slow people walking side by side and holding others up behind them, overbooked flights, people gathering around the gate before their group, they somehow can't manage to find the correct seat, oversized passengers in undersized seats (currently 2 overflowing on my row). That's all just this morning in Toronto. Can't wait for everyone to stand up as soon as we land as well.

Specifically as it relates to flying, stewardess doing what they can to not have beverage service. It seems to have gotten better within the last few months, but for a while it was "unsafe" for them to be in the aisle due to some phantom turbulence that would never occur.

This would be my top thing. You just took a 4 hour flight and need to rush forward to wait 5 minutes for the gate agent to get the jetbridge attached to the plane. Meanwhile you piss off the random people 3 rows up that you end up next to because now they can't get their shite down from the overhead. Usually happens on a flight to LaGuardia, JFK, or Newark. Grinds my gears

I don't mind this phenomenon because it frees up the sitting area and allows me to continue sitting comfortably without anyone crowding me until my group is called.

Happened in Albuquerque last month. Ahole and his wife jump up and rush to get out and stop in front of my seat. Try to give them the benefit of the doubt that they are trying to make a connection but who do we see when we get to baggage claim…Mr. & Mrs. Ahole. Mumbled some choice words about them as we collected our bags and they were still there waiting.

I think they are called "gate lice"

yea, and count me in that number. not worth it to check a bag if it is only a backpack or small duffle. if I have to, I'll stow it under my seat. but super frustrating to get to your seat and see the bin space completely full with nobody sitting anywhere near your assigned seat.

I had a much funnier example. Flying to Baltimore and as soon as we land, some older woman starts running from the back of the plane to get as close to the front as possible. Huge guy (easily 6', 350+) gets out of his seat and steps in the aisle. She slams into the back of him and ends up on her arse. Guy shrugs his shoulders and goes about getting his bags down and never says a word.

Flight attendant sees the whole thing and has tears running down her face to keep from laughing. Older woman is cursing her head off at the poor guy until the flight attendant tells her she was in the wrong. As we get off the plane, she tried to get security involved and the gate agent told him to keep going.

Saw her about 15 minutes later waiting for her cab, still bitching about the situation.

People who don’t know how to go through security. If you have pre-check you should fly enough to know hot to dress and pack. Why am I waiting for you to take off a belt, take off 12 pieces of jewelry, not pack liquids correctly, etc.

I have a new observation from today.

Land in Cabo with remote stand so we have to get on a bus (hilariously the bus ride was maybe 40 feet )

Anyway, people know the game is to be fast to passport control apparently, because as they load on the bus I can't even tell you how many people stopped basically right at the door, packed like sardines to the point people couldn't even get on the bus to fill half of it. People man.

Sometimes the poors get "surprise" TSA Pre-Check clearance and they are easy to spot in line. Taking off shoes, belts, taking out laptops and liquids, etc.

What sucks is getting reversed. Where you've been Precheck so long you end up at some small airport or maybe international flights back to US and they go in hard on the laptop and the plastic bags for toiletries. I don't even know how to pack like that anymore.
