What are the must “do’s” in the Jackson Hole, WY area in early July? It’ll be me, the wife, and the in-laws. We already had horse back riding, white water rafting, and Yellowstone in the plans. Any other necessities?? Anything would be appreciated!

What's your appetite for day hiking?

Some restaurants, in no particular order.

Nora's (It's a good diner)
Persephone (French style bakery and restaurant, good for breakfast or lunch)
Snake River Grill (Dinner)
Thai Me Up/Melvin (It's a brewpub that serves Thai food - really good beer)
The Local (It's a very reliable dinner option)

Elk Refuge is a nice drive through; Take the tram up the mountain at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

Jenny Lake Ferry to the rock for the view.

Take the Gondola at Teton Village to the deck at Piste, get there 30 minutes before the tram opens so you get a good seat. Great spot for heavy appetizers and cocktails.

The Tram at Teton Village is a great spot to ride up and then hike around. You can also take the Tram up the mountain then hike down to Piste for happy hour then take the Gondola down the bottom. I've never done that but want to.

The deck at Dornans for lunch and a beer.

Alpine slide on Snow King mountain in downtown.

White water rafting the Snake River. I've done it twice, and it was a blast.

Cascade Canyon hike

Death Canyon, Static Peak Divide, & Lake Solitude are nicer hikes, but these are likely not what you're looking for.

The National Museum of Wildlife Art is well worth going to also and right outside of town. Its only a 2-3 hour stop at most.

Death was my thought, but I had the same hesitation you had.

A restaurant I neglected to mention.

Picnic - it’s a Persephone spin off. They serve breakfast, but go there for lunch instead.

Restaurants I’ve always meant to go to, but I’ve never eaten at.

The Blue Lion
Glorietta’s
Rendezvous Bistro
Stillwest Brewery and Grill

Elk Refuge will be empty in July. There is an interesting tour there for the kids. You won't see any Elk, they have moved into the mountains.

Just went in March for the first time, luckily the week before everything got shut down from COVID. You MUST eat at Glorietta, our absolute favorite meal we had while visiting Jackson. Teton Thai in the village was a close second. We were obviously there for all the winter activities so can't add much in terms of hiking and things, although we did do a ridiculous 8 mile hike in show shoes that I thought would never end! You'll have a blast, I can't wait to get back there during the summer months.

Taking my 6yo up there at the end of June. Staying in Teton Village. Anyone have any specific recs that a 6yo boy would enjoy? We are fishing one day (can't not go when in WY) and plan to take the tram up for sure.
