The dress code in Europe is black. If you have black jeans, jackets & shoes you will be fine.

I’m guessing the wardrobe of Columbia fishing shirts didn’t translate?

I got back from Paris 3 weeks ago. In the city center, Paris is every bit as expensive as NYC.

I made a coffee run early one morning and the only thing open was Starbucks. It was a mighty fine latte. It was different than normal Starbucks. With that said, don’t go to Starbucks.

Italians outdress the French by a mile.

The first two trips I went, I found that out the hard way.

You'd be looked on more like a Special Needs child than a Red-Headed stepchild. But yes, they will look down on you.

When in Rome, do as the Roman’s. Dress the part. Sperry/polo/khaki is more for around Rome, Georgia.

Nah, the Italians love themselves some big horse polo shirts and khaki pants. Sperry certainly not.

Honestly the key in Europe is just to not look American. Don't rock "trainers", american tennis shoes, levi style jeans, fanny pack, etc.

If you can rock some slacks, a button down or nice polo shirt, and brown or black shoes you'll be perfectly fine. The brits and Italians have really loosened their dress the last couple of years in my experience. You see them wear a lot more t shirts and shorts now a days.

Europeans are dressed to kill. Americans are the most underdressed people on the planet imo. Nicely dressed men are considered gay or metrosexual here in America.

Italy fashion isn't about Rome. Milan is now the fashion capital of the world. Took the title from Paris several years ago.

When you say city center do you mean literally the center, like Notre Dame? There quite a few places in that area to get quality food and drink without spending a shite ton of money but I honestly don't know what NYC costs these days because it's been quite a while since I have been.

Some of you guys are going a little overboard with the dress code.

I just got back from Italy and I saw more euros wearing Nike Air Force Ones than I've seen in the states in a long time.

Can't disagree with it being a magical place. My wife and I love Paris. Rent an Air BnB for a week and just try to enjoy the culture.

I don't remember it being too bad. It just seemed comparable to any time we eat out here in New Orleans.
