But I will pay $50-$75 more the fly out of btr and not deal with driving down and parking.

Lately ticket prices have been pretty close. MSY has to save me more than 2 hours - which means it has to be a nonstop at the right time. Otherwise it’s not worth it.

It’s almost never worth it to me.

I love flying out of BTR. Wish it flew to more destinations.

I once flew out of the Golden Triangle airport outside Starkville and the plane hit a bird and they needed to have it inspected by the mechanic

The mechanic for the airport was at deer camp and we waited 4 hours for him to show up and say “it’s looks fine”

I find flying out of big international airports a waste of time for anything under a 9-10 hour drive.

Huh? I live in metro ATL. My threshold is a 5-hr drive. I can get work done while I’m At the gate and on the plane. Drive is 40 mins to airport. Rarely spend more than 30 mins thru security and to gate.

One of the few good things about BR honestly.

BTR and some of the best tasting potable water in the country.

Ease of flying into and out of BR was a big factor in me going to LSU while living in Illinois.

This is 100% the thing I miss the most. Even more than the food.

What?

I routinely get from the gate at US Park at MSY to security in 15 minutes.

Carry-on unless you're traveling for over a week.

I’m fairly certain BTR is only being kept open by subsidies. Last time I flew out they had ground crew operating the ticket counter.

Being so close to MSY takes the potential for growth away from BTR. That has to be frustrating for the airport board.

Even then, I’d rather have my clothes laundered or buy new ones. Eff checking a bag.

Fallguy speaks the truth. Anything less than 9 hours, we drive and don't even consider a flight. And, direct flights if at all possible. Connections now require a big margin of safety.
