Good rates over TGiving weekend.

What part of downtown would be the best?

As close to Canal as possible?
Between Poydras and Canal?

Looking at Marriott properties. There are a lot including some boutiques under their umbrella.

Any help appreciated.

Q&C Hotel and Bar. Recently redone. Marriott property. Had a great stay there in June.

Both Marriot's are fine, so is the Hilton Riverside. Lowes is down in that area. I've never cared for the Intercontinental.

That would be a hard pass from me that weekend.

In that case, the Canal corridor is back in play.

We stayed at Astor Crowne Plaza in September and were pleased. The price was very reasonable, and everything within easy walking distance. My only complaint was parking - $42 a night.

If you like quaint and local, some friends recommended the Green House Inn because it reminded them of Eden House in Key West (our favorite place in the world). We haven't stayed GH yet but it is on our list.

I use Express Deals on Priceline often. I am able to deduce what the hotel is, or at least narrow it down to one or two. Even published rates there are low for a few hotels for the night you listed - Hilton Riverside $66, Omni Royal Crescent $69, Courtyard Marriott Convention Center $69, Embassy Suites Convention Center $69.

I would stay in the French Quarter. If you want to stay at a Marriott, I would stay at the big one on Canal.

If the bayou classic is still that weekend, change your dates. Canal St becomes a DMZ and it is not worth the aggravation.
I use goseek.com and trivago both search multiple sites.

He said Sunday night, so that will not be a problem.

except that the hotels will be stressed with thousands of departures that day and the staffs will be on edge. if you are staying one night the day after bayou classic you'd be best served by a small boutique hotel or the Windsor court

I was a manager at the Hyatt for 15 years
there is nothing worse than bayou classic weekend

The Montelone is decent and puts you right in the Quarter. Saves on walking and your limited time. Parking garage is about $40. Ask for a government rate if either of you are eligible.

Do they not have minimum night stay requirement for that weekend?
