Will be by myself in Vegas for a conference next week. Would appreciate some recs on good places to eat at dinner. Will be on an expense account so can’t break the bank but anything under $60-70 entree would be ok. Open to any kind of food, not picky at all.

Staying at the Venetian but willing to walk/Uber if needed.

If you are in the Venetian, Mott 32 and Bouchon are both stellar

You MIGHT be able to keep it under your budget if you don't drink* and eat light, but the sushi bar at the Wynn was great.

*that should be the caveat on any rec in this thread, really.

Mott 32.

I actually liked Yardbird for what it is. Cut is excellent but would recommend SW at the Wynn over it. Best Friend at Park MGM.

Eat at the bar of one of the restaurants at the Venetian. If you like seafood eat at the Greek seafood restaurant. Bouchon is good too.

If you want a good burger, check out Black Tap on the Venetian side.

You honestly do not need to leave the Venetian. Or, restaurant row between the Venetian and Palazzo.

BUT, if want a change of scenario, you could walk to the Fountainebleu. Grab a drink at the Bleu Bar and dinner at KYU.

Scenery is what you’d expect at Fountainebleu Las Vegas.

The no name pizza place on the second floor of the Cosmopolitan is excellent, and well within budget. It’s hidden down a hallway so not the easiest to find if you don’t know about it

For about $518 dollars you can walk to the Sphere and eat a hot dog and then catch Dead & Company show

There’s a great casual Italian spot. I think it’s called Sbarro

We like Din Tai Fung but it's all the way down at the Aria.

There's also a Taco Bell Cantina at Planet Hollywood with Boozy Baja Blast slushees.

I forgot about this food court. Also a good hand roll place and a hot chicken place there.

I would say hit up happy hour at Herbs & Rye (off the strip) - very good food (1/2 off steaks during happy hour) and stout drinks. But only if you can sit at the bar or in the booths next to the bar. In the back room sitting in the dark by yourself would feel a bit lonely.

Otherwise, I would find one of the restaurants mentioned and sit at the bar and talk to the hookers while you eat.

I had a terrible experience as a solo diner at Carbone at the Aria last year. I wanted to sit at the bar and called the restaurant directly, as my understanding was you needed a reservation to even sit at the bar. The online system does not have an option for sitting at the bar and does not let you make a reservation for one. I called the restaurant number (making sure to wait until the restaurant was actually open), but must have gotten some central reservations line instead.

I explained I wanted to make a reservation for one at the bar and was told the system would only let them make a reservation for two or more and that they couldn’t make it for the bar specifically, but it would be noted in the system. From the research I had done, the restaurant usually puts solos at the bar.

When I arrived, there was nothing in the system about me being solo (the reservation was for two) or wanting to sit at the bar. I was told the best way to reserve a seat at the bar was by going to the restaurant in person (ideally, at least a day before). The bar was full and I was told the bar was all booked up for the night. Apparently, they frown on solo diners in the dining room, and I had to wait at least 30 minutes after my reservation time for one of the less-desirable tables. For some reason, the main waiter didn’t seem happy either.

I had another reservation the next night (at SW Steakhouse, which worked out much better), so I didn’t want to try and reserve a seat at the bar for the next night and go somewhere else instead.

To be honest, I wasn’t all that impressed with the food at Carbone anyway. As I mentioned, SW was a much better experience (and a better meal). I was able to make a reservation for one there, and was able to sit at the bar anyway (where it was first come, first serve).
