I was reading the other Spain thread, but didn’t want to derail it, so I decided to start a new one.

I’m planning a trip to Spain in May, with 3 days in Madrid, 3 days in Seville, and 3 days in Barcelona. This is my first visit to Spain.

For the 3 days in Seville, I’m trying to decide whether to use one of those days for a day trip (either to Cordoba, Granada, or Ronda) or just stay in Seville for all three days.

Would two days be enough for Seville itself? If I were to take a day trip, what would be your suggestion on the three places mentioned?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I love Seville, 2 days is enough if you cram everything but there’s a lot of walking so depends on how much energy you have

I did Cordoba and I do not think you need a whole day for it.

You have probably read that I am a big fan or Ronda which would be my choice but I have heard that Granada is amazing.

Ronda is a good choice. I'd also suggest you look up Merida. Most Americans have not heard of it. Roman theater and other ruins. Less than 2 hours and an easy trip.

Haven’t been to Rhonda but The Alhambra is worth a day trip and visit. Just an incredible complex and the gardens are worth the price of admission (and the hike).

Cant go wrong with either choice I imagine.

There are some great ruins a short ride (we took Uber) from Seville that are named Italica. It is 8 kilometers outside Seville. Cordoba, Granada and Ronda are all great. If you go to Granada get your tickets to the Alhambra in advance.

One of my favorite day trips in Europe was out of Seville and going to Rhonda and Setenil de las Bodegas, which is the city built into the cliffs. It’s something else.

You really need the 3 days in Seville to do the city justice. As to the other places you mentioned, it just depends. Cordoba has the Mesquita, an amazing church that has also been a mosque and still has elements of both - the Roman bridge is right behind it and you can visit Cordoba in less than a day. The Alhambra in Granada is stunning and a trip there will take an entire day. The bridge in Ronda is fantastic and there are bus tours you can take from Seville that last about 5-6 hours, including a stop for lunch. We liked all 3 places and have been back to Granada to tour the rest of the city.

Coming to throw in Cádiz for consideration and easily doable as a day-trip from Sevilla - though in the warmer months well deserving of a couple days in its own right

We went in November. I’d do Ronda and 2 days in Seville. Ronda is a must IMO and was our favorite part of Spain. Alhambra in Granada is pretty awesome but I’d still rank Ronda over it. Also, Granada is a Muslim city so do with that what you will. Cordoba was nice but the weakest of the 3 IMO

You realize, almost all of Spain has at least once in its history, has been under Muslim rule and that the country is proud of this?!? Man, WT actual F.

I’ve been to Seville before and honestly, 2 days is enough to see the big attractions like the Alcázar and the Cathedral, but if you’re not in a rush, I’d say go for 3 days to really take your time and soak it all in. As for a day trip, Granada’s Alhambra is amazing but it can be a lot for just one day. I’ve also done Cordoba, and the Mezquita is definitely worth it if you're into history and architecture. Ronda is gorgeous with its cliffside views, but it's a bit more of a trek. If I had to choose, I'd go with Cordoba for a more laid-back day trip, but Granada is hard to beat if you’re up for the adventure!

We didn't realize Alahabmra tickets were so hard to get, any tips for early June? The 3rd party sites are suspect.
