Company retreat, 50+ people, overnight, driving distance from New Orleans

Not for me but helping someone come up with ideas for a company retreat within driving distance of New Orleans, looking in the fall, maybe October, could be 50-100 people. Would be overnight for 1 night.
Money isn't too much of a concern I don't think. So upscale-ish with amenities like golf and stuff nearby isn't a bad idea, but not a deal breaker. Unique ideas also welcome. Not sure they want to go as far as say Destin, probably a little closer than that would be nice.

Not an overly helpful reply but the first thing to consider here is who can even accommodate that many people/rooms. It would need to be a big enough hotel that is willing to do a block. So I would start with that. One night only means you really don't want to waste too much time traveling. Most places that come to mind for me are 3-4 hours away.
Your best bet is likely finding a nice hotel in New Orleans...

I am in charge of our staff retreat. We did Gulf State Lodge in Gulf Shores this year and it was fantastic. They did a great job, it was quiet, tons to do onsite. We used to do The Grand Hotel, but it has just become outrageously expensive.

Good suggestions so far and I would add the Perdido Beach Resort in Orange Beach.
We did a similar outing for two nights. They can set up a nice dinner on their entertainment deck looking over the gulf and have music and such.
Nice bars onsite too.
The problem with a 1 night trip is you have to get creative with finding something to do before check in or after check out it seems to make it worth it

The Beau Rivage in Biloxi.
Have the retreat upstairs in the convention area and they will set up a golf outing for you at the Fallen Oak Golf Course.
I have been attending a convention there every year for many years for 125-150 people and it works out fine.

The Grand if price really isn’t a factor. Lodge at Gulf State Park or Perdido Beach Resort in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach.

when I worked for Omni hotels we had our retreat every year but one at the grand. It always went off without a hitch
the one year we went elsewhere was the Thompson Creek place in st francisville also excellent and the golfers really enjoyed it

If go there now (The Bluffs) you'll need tractors, bush hogs, and plenty lawn mowers. Course has been closed for maybe 2 years.
Look into the Paragon in Marksville. Hotel, golf, casino, and meeting room space.
