Thinking about renting a cabin for Christmas. Anyone familiar with the area have recommendations?

They have a great marketing team.
Many have buyer's remorse.
Some enjoy the isolation.

Hmmm, I went in April of 25 and going on the lake was about all there was to do unless you did the tourist trap stuff.
They may have some cool Christmas events planned though.

You’re going to pay beuacoup money to have a cabin in a tiny little town with a pizza shop and a Walmart.
I’m not against getting away for a few days and doing nothing but hanging around, but I’m not paying what they’re asking to do it.

We were there in June and had an enjoyable time. Did lots of hiking and rented a boat for on the lake one day. If you aren't doing a lot of hiking, I could imagine it not being all that interesting. It gets points for close proximity, but I don't see going back anytime soon.

Either I’m boring or everyone else is comparing to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area.
My family of 4 went for Easter and had a blast. It was a laid back mini vacation where we really didn’t do a whole bunch cause well there’s not a whole bunch to do. We did the “touristy stuff” cause well, we were tourist.
Kids loved the cabin and playing pool non stop. I enjoyed cooking on bbq pit outside cabin and sitting by the campfire in the evenings.
I believe people try to compare Broken Bow to larger mountain towns and it’s not. Take it for what it is and not what you want it to be. I’d assume Christmas time will have nice decorations/lights, maybe a little snow too.

I live fairly vlose to Broken Bow and haven't gone in a years or so.
The cabins are "nice" but expensive. The only activities worth a crap are the lake, trout fishing the river or kayaking the river. You can rent kayaks from some place and it's a fun time. Or I guess you can just hang out in the cabin or hot tub.
But overall, not worth the expense and traffic. Eating out is a pain because there are so few restaurants and they get packed. So plan on cooking most meals at the cabin.
Now a long time ago before it blew up it was pretty cool. Evan from the Turnpike Troubadours and Stoney LaRue were there all the time and it was a cool atmosphere. Now it's just a tourist trap out in the hills.

We've rented several in Broken Bow, but this was our favorite because it was an awesome property, and very secluded. If its just you + the wife and kids, I highly recommend.

Its boring and there's not much to do.
If you're going to go then get a house that has some cool stuff in it and in the yard.

However, there are some nice properties that are great for just hanging out. Large patios, fire pits, etc. We enjoy it every few years.
The town has nothing...my advice is to bring groceries, stay away from the touristy stuff, and just enjoy some quiet family time. The restaurants in town are not very good. Find a house with a grill and do your own cooking.
If you expect a "vibrant" tourist city like Pigeon Forge full of traps like
putt putt and go carts, you will be disappointed.

Pretty spot on, my wife and I did a long weekend there in December a couple years ago and really enjoyed it for a nice quiet getaway, but we mostly stayed at the cabin, had coffee on the porch with the deer in the mornings, hung out by the firepit, and drank in the hot tub. The only time we went to town was to eat at Grateful Head Pizza, stop at a couple breweries and I bought some nice steaks to grill one night, and did a few hikes. December is apparently slow season there, so our cabin was fairly cheap. I'd do it again.
Depending on the size of your group, kids, etc there's some cabins with some unique features to keep busy. Some with puttputt courses, saw a few with slides and stuff inside, etc.
