Flying into Vegas on July 26 and then headed out to South Utah for the week. Seeing some decent rates on vehicles with Sixt compared to some of the other rental companies.

Can anybody recommend Sixt?

About the same as any of the others like Enterprise, Avis, Alamo, and Budget?

Any catch to their lower rates that I'm missing?

Used them once in HNL. They were really aggressive in pushing their insurance. I was told that I would have to pay for any damages in full before they would let me leave. I lol'd.

No issues when I returned it. Haven't used them since. IMO, not worth the hassle to save the $5-10 a day.

We're renting the car for 10 days so $5-10 per day adds up.

I've used Sixt in France and the UK. No problems either time, and at CDG, the car inventory was brand new. Ended up with two classes higher than expected bc they happened to have it on hand and no car in my class.

Used Sixt in Iceland. Ran into issues when I returned it where the keyhole cover made of plastic fell off at some point. They said it was $530 to repair even thought the piece online was only $35. Just be aware of this when renting as they operate a little different than the American brands do with “damages”.

I used them in Denver. Ultimately I didn't have any problems with the rental, but their lot was really far from any other lot. I arrived at night, alone, and had a weird shuttle driver ... it seemed really sketchy and made me never want to rent from them again.

I used them twice in the past two years, both times in Europe, once in Florence to drive around Tuscany and once in Paris to drive to Normandy. They were fine. No major problems. I would use them again.

Used them once, shuttle took forever. Loud music blaring in the office like a club only to wait 40 min for the one employee to deal with the line. Issues on return with a noted pre-check issue being blamed on me. Will stick to the big names from now on.

Utilized them in Europe last year...clusterf#$% in Franfurt just locating the Benz in the garage...no precheck preformed. Vehicle preformed well except for the stupid eco-off system, which malfunctioned several times...had to stop at a MB dealership twice to get that and the nav. system worked on. When i dropped it off...again NO checkin/walk around. Two weeks later get a notice from them indicating there were $ 576 worth of dings and scratches....emailed them that their check-in crew did NOT preform pre-rental or post-rental walk around etc. and that they owed me $ 700 for my TWO 'visits' to MB dealers {kept that documentation} to repair vehicle malfunctions...i.e. lost time totaling 3 1/2 HRS. at $ 100/per person ! Never heard another peep out of them ! Protect your self with pre and post pics/documentation...particularly when renting in a foreign nation !

I’ve been tempted by them and FOX due to the extremely cheap prices, but the reviews and horror stories I‘ve read online made me stop short and I’m as cheap as they come. Some things aren’t worth the hassle.

Used them in Phoenix at airport. No issues at all. Price was too good to pass up. Rented an upper end Volvo sedan for less than others’ midsize. On another trip, Costco save me at least $100 on a rental at Denver airport. I’d check Costco pricing if you are a member.

Did you do a search through 1 of the airlines to rent a car?

I rent from Avis through AA for my Euro trips and can never beat the price anywhere else.

I used them at the San Antonio airport because the reservation at whichever other company wasn't ready when I landed. It was a nicer vehicle for the same price. Other than that it was unmemorable, which I think is a good thing in this case.

I have used them twice. Once time at the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Airport and the other in Los Angeles. Sixt had the best deals I could find in the area, pick up was a breeze, drop-off was easy, and I don't recall any "hidden fees"... both cars were actually very nice cars and in decent shape...I'd highly recommwnd

I used Sixt in Vegas last year. No issues. Only reason i went with them was to get a nicer convertible than you could from the airport. They weren't far from the airport, and came pick me up from the airport and brought me to the airport.

I used them in Orlando. They tried to pull some BS with option stuff I did not agree to but I caught it in the rental docs before I left the facility. I knew going in they did that a lot based on reviews. Just make sure you review the docs before and after the rental before you leave.
