Excited to get back to CO to ski for the first time since moving away. We are flying into denver for a the mlk long weekend - in friday, ski saturday and sunday, fly out monday.
We have done keystone, breck, and a-basin too many times so we are looking to branch out. We are thinking Steamboat or Vail, or possibly somewhere else. Any thoughts from the crew? Two couples, good skiers but the wives like the blues/greens.
We have a rental car so we are mobile.

Of those two chooses go to Steamboat. Avoid the I-70 resorts on the weekends, especially holiday weekends, at all costs unless you enjoy long lift lines and crowded runs. Get as far away from Denver as you can manage is my advice.

No, I’ve never ridden outside of the Continental US.
I’ve only been to:
Mammoth CA
Big Sky MT
Jackson Hole WY
Steamboat, Aspen, Vail, Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper, and Wolf Creek CO
Grand Targhee WY

It is just a different vibe from the US, but I think you will love it.
I have been to Mayrhofen, Ischgl, Kitzbuhel, and Anton for skiing.
Here are some pics from my trip to Ischgl last year in late January:

If you can swing it, you will love it.
You will most likely stay in a place that provides breakfast and dinner. At first, I did not like the idea of this routine, but now it is the only thing I will do.
Just like here, the ski passes cover multiple mountains, so you will have plenty of choices.
I am not the best skier, so everything was a challenge for me, but my better skiing friends hads lots of great challenges.
The Apres Ski is terrific. It is very German/Austrian with the German Oompah (my name for it) blasting everywhere, but everyone seems to know the words and such a fun time. After 3 of 4 days you will be singing along and drinking beers. Compared to other resort areas in Europe, Austria is pretty cheap for beer and food.
Also, you can fly into Munich and they all have shuttles to the resorts. So no need to rent a car unless you want.

Thank you. Your post and link to your trip review was exactly what I was looking for.

I woke up to snow this morning and it should continue all week out here. I skied a few hours this morning but I got in a car crash on Sunday so I want to make sure that I don’t have any lingering injuries from it before I really start to push it

Looks like a solid spot. Walking distance to Peru?

Good eye. It’s just across that bridge over the snake river, A-Basin managed to snag a couple of units in these condos for employee housing this season

Have my $99 Military Epic pass, ~3 months of vacation during ski season, and a free place to stay near Breck. Gonna split my time between hunting and skiing.

Headed to Breckinridge at the end of January. We’ll be walking distance to Main Street and just off 4 o’clock street. Looking for recommendations on bars and ski rentals. So far Christy’s and Carver’s seem to be the two top choices that I’ve found for ski rental packages.
What would y’all suggest?

Christy’s east of the turn circle at Four O’clock Road is a good rental location.

Breck opens Wednesday, early, as 5 feet of powder stacked up in the past few days.

I recommend Main Street Sports. That's who we used last year and it was super cheap and right on Main Street.

Looking at possibly skiing Japan in February, specifically Niseko or Hakuba Valley.
My buddies boarded at Niseko - they said it was incredible and are going back again this year.

Anybody with good recommendations on good quality but affordable ski clothing or websites that have good information about what to buy? Haven't been skiing since high school, so I'm needing to update the wardrobe for a trip in December.
