Ive never made it down to Wolf Creek. Might need to try it this year.

I haven’t either but I plan on skiing there this season when I drive down to ski Telluride & Silverton. I’ll let you know what I find down there

Cons: WC is pretty small. Not many lift lines to choose from. You’ll have to stay in Pagosa Springs.
Pros: It doesn’t get too crowded and it gets great annual snowfall.
There’s a ridge up top that you hike to get to a free cat ride to the bowl.
Ive been three separate trips. After two days I get bored with the terrain, even with fresh snow and some decent tree riding.

For Wolf Creek you can also stay in South Fork but it is very limited in lodging and food options but it’s on the side of the pass that closes less often during heavy snow, something to consider.
Also if you snowboard WC can be a pain at times as there are many flat areas. If you can catch WC on a powder day though it’s a lot of fun though due to almost non existent lift lines.

Getting stoked for my first season in Jackson Hole.
Tram laps, 1000s of acres of sidecountry out the gate, Teton Pass and Grand Teton NP for endless backcountry missions. It's gonna be pretty awesome.

I got my first turns of the season yesterday off of Loveland pass! I spent this morning fooling around on a jib line at the top of this pass for a few hours before a storm moved in. Ski season is upon us!

No longer live in SLC. I still got an Ikon pass and have free places to stay in SLC, so I should be making a # of trips. Looking like a better start to the season than last year.

I’m seriously considering a trip to Solden Resort, Austria last week of Jan 2019.
Anyone have reviews of Solden?
Have you ever skied in Austria?

We are headed to Steamboat in February. It will be my first trip there. Anyone have experiences flying into Denver vs flying into Hayden? Flights are much cheaper to Denver but don’t really care for the 4 hourshuttle ride.

Looking at possibly skiing Japan in February, specifically Niseko or Hakuba Valley.
Anyone ever skiied Japan or heard anything noteworthy?

I’m flying into Denver and then driving to Steamboat in December. I’ve done it twice before and it’s a really easy drive. Also takes me right under 3 1/2 hours. I dont mind driving for the costs savings but then again I’ll also fly to Denver to drive to Crested Butte or Wolf Creek.

What were your thoughts? I have a love/hate relationship with WC. Love the minimal lift lines, cheaper lift tix and non corporate feel but man they have some brutal flat areas for snowboarders. Had some great powder and I don’t mind hike to terrain but there are a lot of areas I had to hike out of waist deep powder when a run would flatten out.

Re: flying into Denver vs Hayden for steamboat trip.
While flight is a lot more into Hayden you should run numbers for total transportation since you shouldn’t have to rent a car if flying into Hayden, and you’ll save a lot there vs rental car or shuttle cost from Denver. I went to steamboat a couple years ago and figured all in it was about $100 more to fly into Hayden, which was more than worth it for me to avoid an extra 7 hours in a car or shuttle round trip.

Fly into Hayden. I-70 traffic sucks and the price of the rental or shuttle will be a wash or even save you money overall going into Hayden.
