I have 50/50 and it runs everything for a family of 3 just fine. That said, I'm paying more for 50/50 than you would be paying for 1000.
And I would tell the company to shove their device straight up their arse unless it is required to have access to their service (ie. FIOS). And even then, I would buy the modem/router outright instead of renting it monthly.
Buy your own if that is an option.
Also, I just used this thread to set up 17.1 and it is running smoothly on my FireTV.
ETA: page 50, nice.

Pardon my ignorance but I have the background of a 3rd grader when it comes to this kind of stuff.
How hard is it to set up a personal router on your own? Essentially what the company will be doing is installing the fiber and connecting the modem(if I forego the $9.99 monthly service/router), then I have to go buy my own router and hook it up in order to have wifi, is that correct?

I updated to Kodi 17 on my Mac mini and am trying to install fury. I added Ares and am able to install from zip. It shows that it was a successful add, but there is no install from repository? Can anyone give any guidance on how to get install from repository?

Yes you would just put yours in its place. Its plug and play. Once the webpage comes up you may have to enter a username and password. The installation company could do it for you.

Really wish someone would put up a stream of Wonder Woman or a good one of Pirates of the Caribbean

I read at the beginning of this thread that kodi is not available for apple tv but the guy who is helping me cut the cord since I don't understand all of this has kodi on his apple tv. Is this a relatively new development?

No. Kodi has been installed on Apple TV for quite some time. It easy to set up. Youtube will explain exactly how to do it. I suggest using a build.

Just got my fire tv, much better than the fire stick. Wife is happy bc the xbox now goes in the man cave and she can use playstation vue in the living room.

Does someone have the instructions from the beginning on how to install kodi.

Having Kodi on an Apple TV is a pain in the arse. Unless you pay Apple $99/yr for a, iOS developer's paid subscription, you have to renew the app weekly on the free version developers account. The Fire Stick is the easier route.

Kodi doesn't even work on my FireTV anymore. It either won't load shows or buffers and never plays anything

Which addon? Zen worked great for me this past weekend.

My DirectTv subscription is up at the end of this month and my wife and I are anxiously awaiting it. The plan is to dump them and go to PSVue. We will also be buying a Firebox for our living room.

Exodus and anything from tvaddons is gone now after the dish lawsuit. Look into Elysium (formerly Zen) from noobsandnerds

Exodus, Phoenix and so many others have shut down over the past few days. Sources that are in those add-ons are dropping left and right and ISPs are cracking down. It's basically all out war against Kodi right now. I had a Pi sitting around with Kodi 15 on it and it is still a champ though.
