I experience popups from time to time on TD and when I pull up recipes on Safari on iOS. I've always had iPhone other than my Samsung slide that I had in HS. It hasn't given me many problems for what I use it for, and that's really my only requirement. My 6S is still kicking pretty good. I wish Apple was a little more innovative than they are, but they put out a solid product when push comes to shove.

It's funny seeing people be so condescending towards other people's choice. Each phone is so close in quality now and have their own strengths and weaknesses. Shoot, the lack of customization is a weakness for iOS, but some people actually like that about iOS. It's all about personal preference. There's no clear superior phone.

It's Brett.

Luckily I only know one person with an iPhone anymore but even texting them I never have any issues and never really have.

I have the pixel xl and love it. My wife has the iphone 8 and loves it. We text each other with the default sms when driving... 'siri, text..... ok google text....'

When not driving, we use allo because it's super media friendly and seems to have a good gif selection. I guess we use it for the memes.

My phone is coming up on the 2 yr mark and I love it. No slowdowns for me other than an occasional hiccup when it's supertasking. I have no idea what will be next just because my s4 was great and the pixel has been even better which I didn't think was possible. I can't stand trying to do something on my wife's phone. It feels backwards to me. No going to apple for me.

Great points.

At this point in tech the best tech for Android and Apple both, are almost flawless and last much longer then 2 years without hiccups.

Whether you're an Android guy or Apple guy, both platforms for top texh are equal. Stay with the platform youre familiar with and with the phone market you've invested heavily in. They are equal

I switched from an iPhone 6S to a Pixel 2 around 6 months ago and I miss iOS.

I found iOS to be more effortless to use. I can't find a keyboard that I like as much as the iOS one. I'm using swiftkey right now. Also, it's pretty obvious that Google is spying on me.

Overall the Pixel 2 is a very solid phone though. I like the minimalist design. Very fast and the camera is awesome. I used to consider iTunes to be a major "con" for the iPhone but now I use Spotify instead of mp3s so it's a non-issue.

The reasons I ditched my iPhone are still valid today.

1. All of a sudden my iPhone 6S got ridiculously slow. This very much looked like planned obsolescence and really didn't sit right with me.

2. They took away the ability to quickly turn off wifi or bluetooth from the control center. Basically it just "sleeps" for a little bit. You have to go deeper in the settings to do it now.

3. no usb-c.

I'm just hoping that the current fad of curved screens won't completely take over until they're durable enough to withstand drops without having some huge arse case on it.

I need to replace my S6 and was hoping the pixel 3 was for me. I basically want a big battery and no bloatware. At this time the pixel looks disappointing. If rather save money and get is a oneplus6 if the current projections hold

Look at Moto. I went from a Nexus to a Z Play and could not be happier.

I don't disagree with this, generally.

I've stretched my last 2 phones (Motos) to about the 3 year mark and the current ones we're at 3 1/2 years or so before we go with Pixel 3s. Neither Mrs. Midnight nor I are phablet folks, so the issues with the XL (namely, the polarizing notch) are irrelevant to us. I never got a Nexus because that was about the time we went Verizon and they had a falling out with Google.

Mrs. Midnight is tougher on her phone than I am on mine - but, I'm hopeful we can get potentially 4 years out of a Pixel 3.

And Google is definitely spying on all of us. But, for you Apple cats? Apple is, too.

For my own sake I hope this is true, however unlikely it may be.

Everyone, even the big Android sites and people, are bashing the Pixel 3XL. A 6.7" screen phone with a huge deep notch? Yikes.

It's odd isn't it? Last year's Pixel 2 had huge bezels, yet not one Android reporter said a damn thing about it. They all gave it great reviews (along with the XL)

Now this year, they all obsess over a notch? Something is fishy.

Not really, no one wants a massive 6.7" biggest phone ever made plus a huge notch. They are just echoing the sentiments of the vast majority of people.

When I was buying my pixel 2 last year, I saw a ton of reviews complaining about the bezels...

But for me, I don't care at all about bezels, it's a no brainier trade-off for good front facing speakers

im sorry i see things for what they are and the leash apple has on your tards. Everything he was bitching about had nothing to do with android. maybe if your head wasnt in the clouds you would have seen that too. I was trying to help him understand the thing he was taking it out on wasnt the problem.

I've honestly never understood this "rivalry" between some Apple and Android owners. It's a phone. Get whatever one suits your needs and desires.

And I really couldn't care less about bezels or notches on the front of my phone. As long as it works like it should, I'm happy. Currently trying to decide if I want to spring for a Pixel 2XL, or wait for the 3.

Same here. I am waiting to see what they unvail. I think the leaked specs are just to bad to not be some kind of ruse. If they are accurate I just might grab the Oneplus6T since I am on Tmobile

Well it is all out in the open now, a stolen shipment in Russia of Pixel 3 XL's found its way to a blogger and he released every detail about the phone. They are now speculating Google may move up the release date as a result of an entire shipment being stolen and fully leaked everything, they are selling for over 2K.

Gigantic Leak Seemingly Blows the Lid Off Google's Pixel 3 XL, RIP Surprises
