Not excited about future Pixel 3 renderings (and rumors). Dare I say Apple X2?

I left Apple a few years ago because I despised of iTunes (no longer an issue today with streaming music) and lack of customization (without jailbreaking).

Today, there is no longer a need on the Android platform to root my device, so I have been stock for a couple of years. And I assume the same holds true for Apple today?

One of the biggest drawbacks I find is MMS on Androids. Videos that I send and/or are sent to me come in grainy due to size restrictions. Doesn't matter the setting I set on my phone, they're blurry. With iMessage, this doesn't happen. This is actually important to me because of short videos that my wife will send to me (from her iPhone) of our girls in competition. I often times can't even make them out.

What would it take for you to switch back to the Apple ecosystem?

Everyone, even the big Android sites and people, are bashing the Pixel 3XL. A 6.7" screen phone with a huge deep notch? Yikes.

That said, it is the Pixel 3XL’s display which is set to dominate all future discussions of this phone. For context, a 6.7-inch screen will make the Pixel 3XL the largest mass-market smartphone ever made. The display is a whole 0.7-inches bigger than the Pixel 2XL, 0.3-inches bigger than the newly launched Galaxy Note 9 (which is Samsung’s biggest ever mass-market phone), and it will be 0.2-inches bigger than Apple’s huge iPhone X Plus which launches in two months.

This reason always cracks me up. People haven't had to actually use iTunes for anything since probably before the 5.

I hate texting with people on Android. Group texts can get messy, texts sometimes don't go through, pics get weird, etc.

I may be the wrong person to ask because I never left, but I have a couple good examples.
I have an X, a watch, a MacBook, AirPods, and a couple apple tvs.
I can use my watch to unlock my MacBook as i sit down.
I can use my AirPods seamlessly with my phone, MacBook, or even apple tv.
Pics/videos are stored everywhere and in the cloud without me lifting a finger besides snapping the pic. (I know others can do this but i just really like the style and format apple uses.)
Apple music is on all of my devices. I had a lot of old music in iTunes that is in the same library i stream/save from which is what won me over from spotify.

I'm really just getting into the functionality of the apple tv and the TV app across apple devices. The setup of that combined with DirecTV now made me comfortable enough to cancel TV altogether and just use that. The TV app syncs everywhere and lines up shows to watch so you don't have to go to each and every channels' "watch" app to do so. I think Apple's uses and functionality of the ATV are going to explode over the next few years as streaming options become more prevalent.

I have had a pixel for almost two years, and I will be going back to iPhone.

Android lags and it sucks with pop ups and warning messages.

It's been solid and so happy I went with pixel instead of Samsung, but I'm done, I want back to IOS.

you can thank apple for that for staying proprietary.

you know how i know you are lying. I have been on a Pixel since the initial release and the previous 3 Nexus devices. And i have experienced none of what you are saying.

lags? popups? maybe you are going to too many Ukrainian porn sites. I havent seen a popup in years, mush less on a phone.

Just the regular PH. Not lying either. Probably because I don't update, but a year or so ago I did the update and it crashed my phone and had to get a new one from Verizon.

I'm not here to troll, and Verizon is more annoying than these pop ups. Charging me multiple tax codes for places that aren't near me, bill changes every month, shitty support. I have been with them 10 years and want to leave, but can't because I live in an area where other services aren't as good.

Sorry I'm not a regular tech board person, but yes this shite happens. Just because it doesn't happen to you, doesn't mean it doesn't happen to tons of other ppl.

lol..I'm tired of either having a solid phone that takes a beating or a phone with a ridiculous camera..I use my camera a lot during site visits and I trade off decent pictures for a phone that can be dropped from an airplane

That is an MMS limitation not specific to Android.

That's because iMessage is a chat app that only falls back to SMS/MMS when it has to (like when it sends a message to an Android phone).

You can use any of the dozens of chat apps that are cross-platform and get crystal-clear videos.

Never was a part of it, and never will be, and the reason is (ironically, I guess) because of things like iMessage. I despise vendor lock-in tactics.

Google has made some horrible design choices going back to the original Pixel

These are my sentiments exactly. I was highly anticipating the Pixel 3 to replace my Galaxy S7, but the leaks are lackluster at best. At this point I will either wait for Galaxy S10 or switch to the new Iphone.

My parents, in-laws, and wife being in the apple ecosystem sure would make an easy transition back to apple just to FaceTime and send videos.

As of now I get around this with Duo and sending links to videos through Google Photos, but it is annoying work-around.

My Pixel is around 2 years old now and starting to lag a bit, so I've been excited to see the Pixel 3. Sorely disappointed. I haven't been looking at the XL anyway, but 4GB of RAM is not enough for the next 2 years imo. I'm probably gonna wait it out to see what the OP6T offers in November.
