I don't care if Cable/SAT does it, as I cut that cord a long time ago.

You should, they're the ones that bring the market forward whether you have it or not. ASC 3.0 is really important.

Anyone know if Sling does 4K? I

I don’t believe so. I think fubotv is the only tv streaming service that offers live sports in 4K last I checked...though that could’ve changed.

CAD's 100+ 4K HDR REMUX videos on his plex server says different and I think there's at least one streaming service that pushes very VERY high quality 4K.

VUDU and I *think* fandango is ramping up.

VUDU
quote:

The big thing that Vudu has going for it is that it streams UHD content in Dolby Vision with Dolby Atmos audio tracks! It may take a couple extra seconds of buffering time for the film in question to load, but it's worth it. For a quick test, I cycled between my UHD Blu-ray discs of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and The Magnificent Seven to the Dolby Vision version available through the Vudu app. While difficult to judge in side-by-side comparisons, the Dolby Vision system is beautifully impressive and the app provided a relatively problem free viewing experience. As an added bonus, most (but not all) of the digital copy slips that come with your UHD Blu-ray disc give you UHD streaming access on Vudu - so their's no need to purchase a digital-only version of some titles to experience Dolby Vision. Vudu also has the largest selection of Dolby Vision titles available of any streaming service.

Fandango Now
quote:

Formally known as M-GO, Fandangonow offers up a wide selection of titles to choose from. Some titles are only in UHD while they have a growing number of titles offering up HDR10 support. Your Ultraviolet account can be linked opening up your access to UHD content.

None of what you posted discusses how much those streams are compressed

But I do use Vudu and find it to be pretty damn good quality.

REMUXes i stream to my local devices are raw extracts of the 4K bluray video. they're anywhere from 50-100GB so not for the feint of heart!

i mainly have them for my favorite collections like the Blade Runners, MCU, etc.

4K may never come via major broadcast companies (cox, comcast, ATT, ect). If it does it will be compressed to crap anyway.

Very true

In Europe 4K broadcast are becoming a regular thing for soccer though.

This is compressed too. BluRay and remuxes are the only way to get true 4k.

Physical discs are compressed as well. Not to the same extent as the other formatss, but still compressed.
