I travel for work a lot obviously driving. I noticed Amazon has some options I think I read somewhere that about 85% of incidents are caught by the front camera. A rear camera would be nice I’m just not crazy about actually having to run wires to the back of my company suv for the rear camera.
I guess there are some options that might have the rear camera mounted with the front camera - if that makes sense.
I don’t really need gps etc
Thoughts or opinions?

It seems like someone would come up with a way to use the back up camera like this and just capture the video all the time.

most come with 2 cameras (3 if you get a system w/ an interior camera but thats mainly for uber drives/liability issues)

yes you will run a cable to the back camera and have to find a place to mount it.

they also come with 'parking lot mode' where the camera will kick on if it detects motion so if someone is screwing with your car you might get video of the incident. this has to attach to a 'hot when off' fuse and include a voltage limiter so it can turn off if your battery level drops below a certain level.

i've researched this a bit and the viofo130 had all those features; you just have to find the right fuses to tap into.

I just found out about dongar adapters. I have not bought one yet, but it’s simple enough- a pass through mirror power adapter with a USB port, assuming you have a compatible mirror and camera.

I have only recently started looking into the idea of dash cams in general. $30 is worth not tucking cable in/around trim or making a wire splice myself at my mirror.

Drawback- no “parking lot mode” or “pass through” power. If the vehicle isn’t on, the camera isn’t on. This doesn’t bother me. But if it bothers you, then don’t spring for this. But if you want a simple, clean install, these look like they’ll be in my shopping cart soon.

Looks like a great camera.

Any concerns with this or any other camera storing data on the cloud?

We have a small business with 3 trucks and have been pleased with the Roav cameras(amazon). Very easy to work with.

I bought a garmin mini and a dongar cable for my tundra. It was super easy. Only downside of the dongar adapter is you lose the parking feature. Once the car powers off, the mirror powers off.

How long have you had them? I had a ROAV that was awesome but only lasted about 2 summers. It swolt up and just stopped functioning. I was able to limp it along for a few months but ended trashing it.
